Pray for High School Teen with Weds AM Appt

Today, several of our prayer volunteers were at the sidewalk when a young couple, in their Senior year of High School parked at the sidewalk and walked into the abortion facility.   On their way in, one of our most gentle volunteers approached them, looked lovingly into the young ladies eyes and let her know that she has options, that there are other options available for her.   She got a mere shrug from the young mother as she and her boyfriend continued into the site.   Shortly after, they walked back out and this time another of our prayer volunteers, who is herself post abortive, approached them as she was about to get into the car.   The young woman willingly stood and had a long conversation with our volunteer as she learned more about abortion and the life changing regret that follows such a decision.   This young couple stayed, the young man already seated in the driver’s seat, his girl friend, the mother of his child, stood at the open passenger’s door, making no move to get into the car as she conversed with our volunteer.

Sadly, the young man reflects a mistaken understanding of his role to protect his child.   He has a strong desire to do the right thing, and he earnestly wants to ensure that his child not go through the pain of rejection that he sees in friends and family members who are in the Foster Care system.   He mistakenly believes that a child would be better off suffering the relatively quick pain of an abortion as compared to the long term emotional pain of abandonment that he feels would accompany the child if adopted out.   He was also under the illusion that at 8 weeks, which their child is, that the infant 1.) is not yet alive and 2.) was incapable of feeling any of the pain associated with an abortion.   He also stated that he didn’t want to see his girlfriend go through the pain of being pregnant for 9 months, as she has already been suffering with morning sickness.   These fallacies were corrected with love for those listening, so they might not make an uninformed decision that cannot be undone.

Our prayer volunteer was able to share her own family experience with teen pregnancy, for she was also a Senior in High School when she found herself pregnant and then aborted her son.   Her sister, several years later, also became pregnant during her senior year and rather than aborting her child, she lived with a family out of state while she was pregnant, gave her child to an adoptive family and returned to school in time to walk in her graduation ceremony with her peers.   She now knows her first daughter, was able to attend her wedding and has a relationship with her first grandchild.   The third story from this family on the subject of teen pregnancy relates to our volunteer’s niece, the youngest daughter of her sister, who also found herself pregnant in her High School Sr. year.   She made a different choice than either her mother or her aunt.   She and her boyfriend, now fiancé, chose to give their child life and raise him together.   Of these three women, the only one who is left with regrets and the loss of a child is the one who chose to abort the child she will never meet, our volunteer.

Even though this young mother, met at the sidewalk on Tuesday, is herself adopted, she is uncertain that adoption is the best option for her child, and she feels she is too young to raise a child.   She is currently scheduled to return to the facility for an abortion on Wednesday morning.   Please pray for this young couple that they will use the resources provided to them, that they will call the Reno Crisis Pregnancy Center or our volunteer who willingly offered to talk to them at any time, even if they choose to abort their child, because if they do abort, they will need the love and support of those who have been there.  Your prayers are needed, even if you read this after Wednesday morning, for it is through the grace of God that their child will be spared, and God is outside of time, so please, pray, right now.

Also, if you have the opportunity to help those who buy into the lies sold by the culture of death, it is your responsibility as a Christian to reach out and bring light into the world.   Far too many have the mistaken impression that abortion is in some way a loving compassionate choice for a child who’s parents feel unprepared to provide a healthy home.   This thinking fails to appreciate the special, sacred nature of being human, that we have been created in the image and likeness of God himself, that God alone gives life and that it must be God alone to take life.   Please pray that these fundamental truths be realized by more people every day, so that our culture can return to an appreciation for Life as the first of our Constitutional Rights, without which none of the others matter.   This young mother, herself adopted, is nearly done with High School and intends on going to college.   She is in a relationship with a young man who appears to love her deeply and she has experienced this love in her life.   These experiences of love and growth and her continued potential as she begins to move into her adult life would not exist without life.   She would not have the potential to come to know, love and serve Christ if she had been aborted from her mother’s womb.

When you come to the sidewalk at 5915 Tyrone Rd (for directions, go to: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/westend ), please bring some of the referrals to local pregnancy resources that we provide to offer to the women who come to the abortion site.   If you haven’t seen this handout, please download a copy from our website.   There is a link to it located on the team page, or you can go to it directly at: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/resources .   These resources provide the women with the opportunity to fully explore their choices before they end up at a dead end.

If you need any brochures to assist the women you meet at the sidewalk choose life or to promote the campaign, please contact Carol Marie at 530-412-1573 or come to the Life Chain event on Sunday to request your copies.

Before you go to the sidewalk to pray and/or sidewalk counsel, please sign our Statement of Peace, located at: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/statementofpeace .    Those who participate in 40 Days for Life are asked to commit to being peaceful, prayerful and lawful while we are at the sidewalk.

Excessive and Wasteful Water Usage

The sprinkler system in the front of the property at the abortion site has been brought back into functioning condition.   The Truckee Meadows Water Authority closely monitors the use of water, including the water used on landscapes in the area of the abortion site, located at 5915 Tyrone Road.   According to their website, businesses and residences are to follow the same watering schedule, with odd numbered addresses allowed to water only on the following days – Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.   The use of water is controlled based on a series of rules, Rule 2 addresses the Excessive Use of Water and Water Waste.

See http://www.tmh2o.com/docs/Customer_Services/rules/Rule02_20100217.pdf As can be seen in the definitions here, “Excessive” relative to the application of water means an immoderate or unreasonable consumption which results in: water running into any street, road, parking lot, gutter, drainway, … in a steady stream or flow, or collecting in pools or in a depressed area to a depth of one inch or more or … applying … in a manner contrary to any water conservation regulation, policy, rule, condition, directive, or request that has been issued to the Customers of the public water system or that has been given general public notice by the Authority.

The Truckee Meadows Water Authority website states the following:

Report Water Waste in Your Community

Truckee Meadows Water Authority is serious about preventing water waste. You are the eyes of the community so we need your help. If you see water being wasted, please let us know by filling out the form below. A big part of our success in responding to water waste is very specific information concerning the time, day and location.

If you encounter wasteful use of our precious water resources, please go to:

http://tmh20.com//conservation/assigned_day_watering/report_waste to submit a report.   If possible, take photos of what you encounter, especially as it pertains to water flowing on the street and into the storm drain.   Note that failure to provide adequate information is the primary reason that these reports cannot be followed up with corrective action.

Please Remember to Stay on the Sidewalk or Across the Street

Just a quick reminder that we don’t want to be in the street when we come to pray.   Please stay either on the sidewalk or on the dirt across the street when you come to pray.   We also are not allowed to block vehicles entering or exiting the driveway of the abortion site, nor can we block pedestrians on the sidewalk.   Thank you for your continued cooperation.   If you are asked to move by a police officer, please comply immediately and ask for his name and badge number.   We’d like to keep track of any encounters between those who are volunteering at the sidewalk and the Reno Police department, so please email us at 40DaysforLifeRenoTahoe@gmail.com or call us at 530-412-1573.

Have You Encountered Disturbing the Peace or a Noise Nuisance?

Have you been to the sidewalk and been subjected to a noise nuisance while there?   Did you know that the City of Reno has a code that specifically addresses disturbing the peace and public nuisances?

Sec. 8.12.020. - Disturbing the peace.

It is unlawful for any person to commit a breach of the peace. Such breach shall consist of:

  1. Fighting or challenging to fight; or
  2. Conduct or words calculated to provoke violence or a violation of the law by the person to whom the conduct or words are addressed; or
  3. Making annoying, lewd, malicious or threatening telephone calls; or
  4. Willfully and unreasonably subjecting a person or neighborhood to any noise which is likely to disturb the peace of persons of reasonable and ordinary sensibilities.

(Code 1966, § 11.12.090; Ord. No. 5047, § 1, 9-28-99; Ord. No. 5387, § 1, 11-5-02)

And further on in the code regarding Nuisances:

Nuisance or nuisance activity. That which is injurious to health, or injurious, indecent and offensive to the senses, or an obstruction to the free use of property so as to interfere with the comfortable enjoyment of life or property, or is against the interest of public morals, decency, safety, peace and order, including, but not limited to, an attractive nuisance, a nuisance per se, criminal activity, the presence of debris, litter, graffiti, garbage, rubble, abandoned, unregistered or junk vehicles or junk appliances, curfew violations, or any other activity, behavior or conduct defined by the council or Nevada Revised Statutes to constitute a public nuisance. Nuisance or nuisance activity includes unreasonably creating, allowing, or engaging in any activity, conduct or use of property that subjects a person or neighborhood to noise which is likely to disturb the peace of persons of reasonable and ordinary sensibilities. [Reference NRS 268; NRS 268.412; 1997]

Sec. 8.22.035. - Nuisances per se defined.

Any of the following conditions are a nuisance per se as constituting conditions which annoy, injure or endanger the safety, health or comfort of any considerable number of persons:

(1)     An unsafe or dangerous building; …

(25)   Any other condition which creates a blight to adjoining property, the neighborhood or the city, or a nuisance, health, safety or fire hazard identified as such under the conditions set forth in the International Fire Code, International Building Code, Uniform Abatement of Dangerous Buildings Code, Washoe County Solid Waste Management Code, or any other Reno Municipal Code or Washoe County Code or the Nevada Revised Statutes.

While we need to be accountable for our own behavior and ensure that we ourselves do not in any way cross over from prayer and an exercise of our Free Speech to being a public nuisance, we should also be protected from those who seek to disturb our peace or use noise as a nuisance towards us.   The Reno Police Department Non-Emergency number is: 775-334-2677.   I recommend you program it into your cell phone.   If you do contact the police for an incident of Disturbing the Peace or a Noise Nuisance, please also contact us at 40DaysforLifeRenoTahoe@gmail.com or 530-412-1573 and let us know how your call was handled.   Please get the name of the officer with whom you spoke, as well as their badge number.   If a report was taken (this is what is required for them to follow-up on the matter) be certain to ask for the case number and provide that to us as well.

Video Cameras Recommended

It has been recommended, and I’d like to encourage you to consider this recommendation, that those coming to the sidewalk bring a video camera when you come to pray.   Place the camera in your car, or on a tripod on the sidewalk, to videotape you while you are standing in prayer.   It is prudent that we have a video record of all that occurs at the sidewalk, as we gather peacefully, prayerfully and lawfully.

National Campaign News

395 Babies Saved This Campaign

World-wide, there are a reported 395 babies saved during the current 40 Days for Life campaign.   But better than that, since the 40 Days for Life campaigns started, there have been over 2,536 known lives saved.   At the national level, there are several twins known to have been saved, and even one set of triplets who have been spared from abortion.

If you’re not already getting the daily updates from the National 40 Days for Life campaign, go to our website: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe and sign up to receive updates at the top right corner of the page.   In addition to stories from around the country, there is a daily prayer reflection given each day.

Vigil Calendar

Volunteers Needed Weds 7-8 am & 1-1:3 pm; Thurs 7-8 am & 2-7 pm; & Fri 7-8 am

This is the final week of the campaign.   Let’s finish with a strong presence at the sidewalk.   Please, come before going to work in the morning, at your lunch hour and again after work, as a final show of faithfulness to Our Lord as the Spring 2010 campaign comes to a close!

Typically the business of selling death is busiest in Reno on Weds through Friday.   Won’t you please commit to pray at the sidewalk for an hour on these days?

On the weekend, while we aren’t encountering women on their way into the abortion site, we do have the opportunity to have an impact on those who are driving by on Airway or those who walk past.   Please come to the sidewalk and assist us in covering the sidewalk with prayer, 7 days per week for 40 Days, as we Pray to End Abortion.

Please register the hours when you can come pray at the sidewalk by going to our on-line calendar at:  www.vigilcalendar.com/renotahoe.   The names of those who sign up on the calendar are hidden from all but a small and select group of volunteers who can assist others in registering their hours on the calendar, so you needn’t fear that you might be harassed by anyone opposed to our prayers, nor do you need to fear that posting your hours is a form of boasting that you are being pious in your prayers.   Signing up simply allows us to coordinate our efforts so we can determine where we have holes in our volunteers efforts, allowing us to best use our time while ensuring we maintain a constant prayer covering at the sidewalk.

You are welcome to sign-up or simply show-up to pray at the sidewalk at any time of the day or night when you are available to join us.   Your prayers have value well beyond anything we can see and we welcome whatever contribution you can make to the effort as we Pray to End Abortion.   If you haven’t already done so, please sign a Statement of Peace, by going to www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/StatementofPeace.

40 Days through Scripture

Day 35 - Hebrews 11 – James 5 (including: Hebrews 12:1-13)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith.   For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God.   Consider how he endured such opposition from sinners, in order that you may not grow weary and lose heart.   In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood.   You have also forgotten the exhortation addressed to you as sons: “My son, do not disdain the discipline of the Lord or lose heart when reproved by him; for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines; he scourges every son he acknowledges.” Endure your trials as “discipline”; God treats you as sons.   For what “son” is there whom his father does not discipline?   If you are without discipline, in which all have shared, are you not sons but bastards.   Besides this, we have had our earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them.   Should we not [then] submit all the more to the Father of spirits and live?   They disciplined us for a short time as seemed right to them, but he does so for our benefit, in order that we may share his holiness.   At the time, all discipline seems cause not for join but for pain, yet later it brings the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who are trained by it. So strengthen your drooping hands and your weak knees.   Make straight paths for your feet, that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed.

Join us as we read the New Testament over the course of the 40 Day campaign.

SCOTUS Passes On Mass. Abortion Clinic Case

[ FOXNews.com, Washington DC] – by: Lee Ross - A Massachusetts law mandating a 35 foot "no speech zone" around abortion clinics will not be given further review by the Supreme Court the justices announced Monday.

The law was upheld by a lower court last year. Opponents contend the law improperly carves out an exception to First Amendment protections. "The statute makes it a crime to stand on the public sidewalk and display signs, distribute leaflets, pray in silence, or converse with willing listeners, even when there are no incoming patients in or near the zone," lawyers for five Massachusetts residents wrote to the high court asking the justices to take the case.

Anyone who violates the 2007 law is subject to a small fine and up to three months in jail but the law's opponents law contend there was no need for the Massachusetts legislature to act. They say there is no record of anyone in Massachusetts who was prosecuted under a previous state law imposing a six foot perimeter. These opponents also object to the language of the statute that makes it specific to abortion clinics rather than all health facilities and the exemptions given to people who have business in the clinics.

In asking the justices to keep out of the case and effectively uphold the law, Massachusetts officials argued the new legislation is necessary to protect public safety and to ensure people have access to abortion clinics.   To Continue Reading

Children, Teens, Young Adults, and Middle Aged Adults Come to Sing & Pray

The sidewalk on Monday, the day after the passage of Abortion Funding Health Care was marked by a wide array of people coming together to Pray to End Abortion.   One mom showed up at the sidewalk with her 5 children.   They gathered and prayed together as a family, joining the adults already present in prayer.   Before they finished their time at the sidewalk, the father of the family came by to pick up their son for a game, after he also spent some time in prayer.

Two teens arrived intent on praying as a way of dealing with the news of yesterday’s House vote, knowing that ultimately, we have the opportunity to reach the hearts of the women who are putting the lives of their children on the chopping block, often to solve transient problems.   The day was a range of individuals each coming to

368 Babies Saved This Campaign - 2,536 Since the Beginning

World-wide, there are a reported 368 babies saved during the current 40 Days for Life campaign.   But better than that, since the 40 Days for Life campaigns started, there have been 2,536 known lives saved.   At the national level, there are several twins known to have been saved, and even one set of triplets who have been spared from abortion.   Details on this story and more were published in today’s National Campaign update.

If you’re not already getting the daily updates from the National 40 Days for Life campaign, go to our website: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe and sign up to receive updates at the top right corner of the page.

Vigil Calendar

Volunteers Needed Tues 7-8 am; Weds 7-8 am, 2-3 & 6-7 pm; & Thurs 7-8 am & 2-7 pm

Day 34 - Hebrews 2 - 10 (including:    Hebrews 3:12-15)
Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God.   Encourage yourselves daily while it is still “today,” so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin.   We have become partners of Christ if only we hold the beginning of reality firm until the end, for it is said: “Oh, that today you would hear his voice: ‘Harden not your hearts as at the rebellion.’”

Join us as we read the New Testament over the course of the 40 Day campaign.

CMA physicians: Without Strong Conscience Protections, Bill Imperils Poor Patients Part Four of Four

[National Right To Life, Washington DC] – The nation's largest association of faith-based physicians, the 17,000-member Christian Medical Association (CMA, www.cmda.org ), today lamented the passage of a sweeping healthcare overhaul bill that lacks strong conscience protections, saying the gap could lead to a crisis of health care for poor patients. "Millions of poor patients and those in medically underserved areas currently depend on care from faith-based hospitals, clinics and physicians who follow life-affirming ethical standards such as those found in the Hippocratic oath and the Judeo-Christian Scriptures," noted CMA CEO Dr. David Stevens.

"National polling reveals that 95 percent of faith-based physicians say they will be forced to leave medicine without conscience protections. Since the bill passed by Congress does not include strong conscience protections, it opens the door to an increase in discrimination against physicians, hospitals and clinics that decline to participate in abortion and other morally controversial procedures."

While several longstanding federal laws passed on a bipartisan basis over the past 35 years have offered strong conscience protections, President Obama has announced plans to rescind the only federal regulation that implements those laws. The Senate bill passed by the House on Sunday does not prohibit discrimination by the government or healthcare facilities against healthcare professionals who attempt to follow their conscience on abortion and other morally controversial procedures. The Senate had declined to pass a strong conscience-protecting amendment offered by one of its two physicians, Oklahoma Republican Tom Coburn.   To Continue Reading

Local Campaign News

Final Week of 40 Days for Life Begins – COME SUPPORT THE EFFORT!

The final week of the Spring 2010 begins, and we’d like to see everyone who has been following the campaign through these updates, make a point of coming to the sidewalk to Pray to End Abortion.   If the Health Care Reform is ever implemented, it will absolutely impact the lives of millions more innocent children.

We may not be able to control what happens in Washington DC, but we can control what happens here in Reno, at this sidewalk as we Peacefully, Prayerfully and Lawfully gather to Pray to End Abortion.   Our prayers are having an effect.   They are helping women realize that they have other options as they choose life.   They are having an effect on those who drive by and realize what is happening in this sad place in our town.   They wave, they give a thumbs up and it is our hope that they remember to say a prayer, which would otherwise have been left unsaid.   There are others who, when driving by, see us and their consciences are pricked, as they think, perhaps for the first time in years, about their own culpability in an abortion.   This reminder gives them the opportunity to reflect, and hopefully to repent so that they can draw closer to God, who is all knowing, all loving and ever willing to forgive the sins of their past.

We also pray that our presence is having an effect on those who are working inside the abortion site itself.   We would like all involved in the industry, but especially those who work here in Reno, to appreciate the sanctity of life from the moment of conception, when the egg and sperm first come together and a new life begins.   We know that we have inroads to those whom they know, through stories which we cannot share here.   These opportunities to have an inside look into the lives of those involved with the abortion site came about due to our ongoing presence at the sidewalk, and the conversations this presence has started.   It’s possible that God is calling you to be an apostle for Life through your participation in this activity and the subsequent conversations about your experiences.

What I ask of you now, is that you take this to prayer.   Take it to real, substantial prayer, asking God, “How Lord, would you have me respond to this request?   What can I possibly do?   How can I possibly go somewhere that does such things as this?”

When you do come to the sidewalk at 5915 Tyrone Rd (for directions, go to: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/westend ), please bring some of the referrals to local pregnancy resources that we provide to offer to the women who come to the abortion site.

40 Days through Scripture

Day 33 - I Timothy 6 – Hebrews 1 (including: 2 Timothy 2:8-13)
Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David: such is my gospel, for which I am suffering, even to the point of chains, like a criminal.   But the word of God is not chained.   Therefore, I bear with everything for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they too may obtain the salvation this is in Christ Jesus, together with eternal glory.   This saying is trustworthy: If we have died with him, we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him, he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.

Join us as we read the New Testament over the course of the 40 Day campaign.

House Passes Pro-Abortion Senate HCR Bill After Executive Order Deal

[ LifeNews, Washington DC] - The House of Representatives tonight approved the pro-abortion Senate health care bill on a 219-212 vote with a 34 Democrats joining Republicans against it. The bill contains massive abortion funding and promotion that pro-life Democrats hope an executive order will mitigate.

Before the votes, Rep. Bart Stupak negotiated a deal with pro-abortion President Barack Obama for an executive order that he says will nullify the abortion funding.

But, pro-life groups unanimously opposed the executive order saying they don't trust Obama and that technically it will fail in its attempt to stop the legislation's abortion funding. They say an executive order can't modify federal law and that abortions will be funded regardless of the content of the executive order.

"Unfortunately, this proposal does not begin to address the problem, which arises from decades of federal appellate rulings that apply the principles of Roe v. Wade to federal health legislation," Richard Doerflinger, of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, explains .

"The executive order promised by President Obama was issued for political effect. It changes nothing," National Right to Life added. "It does not correct any of the serious pro-abortion provisions in the bill."

The top Republican in the House told Democrats prior to the vote that they should be clear the bill funds and promotes abortions.

"Make no mistake, a ‘yes’ vote on the Democrats’ health care bill is a vote for taxpayer-funded abortions," he said.

Despite the abortion funding in the bill, Speaker Nancy Pelosi twice referred to the right to "life" -- something Americans United for Life president Charmaine Yoest called a "horrible irony."    To Continue Reading

The Final Vote Roll Call

Sadly, the final vote is in, and Health Care has passed in the House, opening the way for many many more abortions.   If you would like to know how each member of the House voted, the final vote can be found at: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2010/roll165.xml

Local Campaign News

Local Volunteer Visits Beaverton Sidewalk

Another of our local prayer volunteers has had the opportunity to visit the sidewalk of another campaign while traveling and reported back that she found 7 prayer volunteers standing in front of an abortion facility where they are conducting a one per week vigil.   She was happy to be able to share with them the success we are having here in Reno, as we have been getting coverage with very few breaks through-out the week.   Each time we stop in to visit our counterparts while traveling around the country we have the opportunity to learn tips from them, as to what is making their campaign a success and we have the chance to share with them our successes, thus encouraging them to continue with their effort.   It wasn’t that long ago when maintaining a full vigil seemed a slim likelihood, and yet we are currently doing it, and getting results to show for the effort.

On Saturday, while at the sidewalk, on volunteer was approached by a woman from Columbia who, while agreeing absolutely that abortion is terrible, didn’t feel she was the sort of person to spend a lot of time in church, to read the Bible much, or to do a lot a praying.   It is hoped that through this random conversation with our volunteer that her curiosity to establish a closer relationship with the Christ of her youth will bring her to begin exploring who He is in her life.   Let us pray that it is so.

Each time we stand at the sidewalk, whether we are there alone, or with a large group of other prayer volunteers, we give witness to the Love of Christ, and our concern for the loss of innocent life.   We cause those who drive by to consider their position on the subject, and confront their own positions, often for the first time in many years.   The truth does well when brought to the light.   It is only lies which thrive in the darkness.   So, come, do not hide your light under a bushel basket, let your witness be seen and be the salt that our world so desperately needs.

352 Babies Saved!

World-wide, there are a reported 352o babies saved during the current 40 Days for Life campaign.   The incredible thing is that we know from local experience that there are saves that aren’t reported to the sidewalk, sometimes for years afterwards, and sometimes they are never reported to those who come to pray and council the women entering the abortion site.   Praise God for all those who are saved from abortion and the women who are spared the trauma!   Praise God also for those who have been brought to the healing of Our Lord Jesus Christ through the witness provided at the sidewalk.

Bring Adopt-a-Day to your church by contacting us at 40DaysforLifeRenoTahoe@gmail.com or by calling Carol Marie at (530) 412-1573. We will schedule your church for a day at the sidewalk.

Volunteers Needed Sun 7-8 am, 2-5 pm – 5:30-7 pm; Mon 7-8 am & 5:30 – 7 pm & Tues 7-8 am

To get the complete 40 Days Through the New Testament list, go to:  www.40DaysforLife.com/renotahoe/NewTestament, print it out and get started now.

National News

Health Care Vote Count

Speaking of doing everything possible to sway votes, the President has apparently been in talks with Bart Stupak, with promises of signing an Executive Order to halt the Federal Funding of abortion in exchange for his vote and the votes of those in his voting bloc.   I pray they aren’t naïve enough to believe that such an order would 1.) accomplish that which is needed to make this Health Care Reform Bill palatable, and 2. ) that it would be kept in place long enough to do what little it would be represented as doing.   It has also been stated that an Executive Order legally can’t accomplish what is needed, and therefore wouldn’t stand up to legal challenges, rendering it constitutionally ineffective.

An excellent blog has been written on the subject, which also goes on to list those Representatives who are most likely to play a pivotal role in this election.   Please consider contacting them and if you know anyone who lives in their districts, please ask them to contact them as well.

To read the blog, go to: http://thehayride.com/2010/03/no-bill-no-cbo-numbers-bad-sign-for-obamacare/

Because the blog hasn’t identified the states or contact information for each of the Representatives listed, I’ve gone ahead and provided that information for you.

LA Times Survey

Even the liberal LA Times is onto the fact that this Health Care Reform is not right for the nation and is not what the citizens want.   Here’s how the intro to their poll begins:

You may have heard some mention now and then and around the clock during the last year of some very lengthy piece of healthcare legislation that President Obama wants very badly. You can tell the smoker wants it. Just look at him.

Well, here's your chance to cast your own vote below.

And the healthcare bill is pretty much the only thing he's talked about in town halls -- not counting his NCAA picks and one or two mentions of his war in Afghanistan.

The nifty healthcare bill won't cover Obama and his family; government folks are exempt from the legislation that they've decided is just right for the rest of us.

Anyway, over these past way too many months you may have also noticed a little bit of debate over this bill that would cost $940 billion, according to current estimates and you know how dead-on those always are.

Woman Has Recurring Dream of a Baby Struggling in the Womb Then Learns She Was Aborted!

Here’s an amazing story to share with anyone you know who is uncertain that the unborn infant is alive or aware of their surroundings.   This is the true story of a young woman who, while still a little girl had a recurring nightmare of being the baby in a womb and fighting to survive, feeling that she was under attack and unable to move out of the reach of something evil and dangerous.   Later, when she was a young woman, her mother admitted what she had previous held secret, that she had aborted her daughter, but that she had survived the ordeal.   This aborted child had formed clear memories of the event, which were stored in her subconscious, and had been haunting her dreams as a child.   To anyone who questions the humanity of the unborn, I direct them to this powerful testimony of courageous survivor.   See it here: http://www.juda4praise.com/News.htm#dream
