Carson City Kick-Off Went Well

Across from the new Planned Parenthood facility at 1201 North Stewart Street, about 30 members of northern Nevada’s faith community prayed Wednesday evening as they began the 40 Days for Life campaign in the state capital. The participants included families, young adults, and seniors.

Planned Parenthood was open for business during this time, and employees occasionally peered out their windows to see what was going on. The facility is located only a short walk from Nevada’s government complex and the Governor’s Mansion. To ensure there would be no violations of the facility’s property line, organizer Cecelia Merrell had the 40 Days for Life members gather on the opposite side of North Stewart. A prayer vigil to end abortion will take place at the facility through April 1st on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, its current days of operation.

Reno Volunteers Take it Door-to-Door

Six adult volunteers and one youth from the Reno campaign went door-to-door, inviting members of the community to join us in Prayer and Fasting; Prayerful Vigil and Community Outreach as we Pray to End Abortion. While the winds were chilly, the sun smiled on our efforts as we found homeowners interested in learning more about the 40 Days for Life effort in our area. While a large number of the Churches represented are Catholic, this is not intended to be a “Catholic” event, but rather a catholic (universal) event. The Executive Director of 40 Days for Life at the national level is non-Catholic and all are invited to participate, regardless of where you find your church home.
