National Campaign Daily Intention
Pray that volunteers will replace exhaustion or discouragement with rejoicing over the miracles we have seen thus far, and enthusiastic service as God takes us on to victory!
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.—1 Peter 1:6-7
We have reason to rejoice when we consider the many babies whose lives have been saved during the 40 Days for Life campaign. Add to those lives, the women and men who have been spared from a devastating decision and now have opportunity to make a plan for their baby that is both life affirming and God honoring.
Whether directly, or indirectly, you have contributed to these testimonies of praise with your sacrificial service. Perhaps you have been grieved by various trials during your commitment to 40 days. The attacks of the enemy come in many forms ‐‐ difficulties in relationships, finances, health. Or maybe you are physically and mentally exhausted and have been marking off the days on your calendar, eagerly waiting for Day 40. Consider these trials in light of God’s plan for you. The Apostle Paul understood the big picture when he said in Romans 8:18, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” This is our Hope and our victory. Let us rejoice in the opportunity to give that Hope to others in our path.

Meet an Abortion Survivor
The National campaign reports on how the campaign is progressing around the country. Here is an excerpt from today’s update.
Jennifer in Cherry Hill, New Jersey has been thankful that the 40 Days for Life campaign in her community has the support of the local Catholic bishop in the Diocese of Camden. Just recently, Bishop Joseph Galante participated in the prayer vigil outside the abortion facility -- and more than 100 other people were there to join him.
To see a photo of Bishop Galante at the vigil, go to: http://40daysforlife.com/blog/?p=480
But there's someone else in that picture that I'd like to call to your attention -- the young woman in the wheelchair next to Bishop Galante. Her name is Maricruz, and I would ask that you pray for her, her birth family in Central America, and her adopted family in New Jersey. Maricruz is an abortion survivor.
Twenty-one years ago, her mother tried to abort her. This was an attempted chemical abortion; her mother took a pill, which was assumed to be RU-486. It is believed that the drug was being used experimentally in Central America at the time. To make a long story short, the abortion pill didn't work. Maricruz was born three months premature. She survived, but was left severely handicapped and must use the wheelchair. Maricruz has three siblings in Central America -- and four others who were aborted.
The woman next to Maricruz is her adopted grandmother, an active pro-lifer who's been honored for her efforts on behalf of the unborn. She is also the mother of 13 -- including Jennifer. Yes, the woman who helped bring 40 Days for Life to Cherry Hill, New Jersey (it's just outside of Philadelphia, in case you were wondering) is also Maricruz's adopted mom.
Please share this story with the next person who complains that pro-lifers care nothing about "unwanted" children after they're born! Said Jennifer, "God provides for us in our lives when we accept His plan for our lives."

Carson City Sidewalk Participation Continues to Grow
In addition to the growing number of prayer volunteers who have been attending the sidewalk in Reno, the presence on the sidewalk in Carson City has been steadily growing, with those standing in prayer becoming a regular occurrence at the sidewalk near the entrance to Tahoe Women’s Care, located on Mica Dr at the South end of town. If you live in the area, consider joining those already going to pray for the innocent children losing their lives at this Ob/Gyn practice.
Police Non-Emergency Number – 775 334-2099
The non-emergency Police number we have been asked to use for the Fall campaign, is 775-334-2099. If you’d like to report being sprayed by the watering system or having music blasted while you’re at the sidewalk, please use this Reno Police non-emergency line. If you feel that you are in threat of imminent harm, call 911 immediately.
Before you come out to pray, please sign a Statement of Peace which can be found on-line at: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/StatementofPeace. If you can get to the sidewalk in Reno, to register for the hours when you’ll be at the sidewalk, go to: http://www.vigilcalendar.com/renotahoe. For those who live close to Carson City, please consider going to the sidewalk in front of the Tahoe Women’s Care, located on Mica Drive. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this effort. To register for your time there, go to: http://www.vigilcalendar.com/carsoncity. Don’t forget to send your impressions of your time at the sidewalk to renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com.
Our website has been undergoing major renovations, due to the assistance of our webmaster, Suzie. Take at look by going to: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe and don’t miss the Resources section!
Remember, if you have plan to participate as a member of 40 Days for Life, you are asked to follow the law, including those that apply to private property. Do not enter the property of the abortion site and do not leave “Litter” behind when you depart. This includes large crosses on the public land directly across from the abortion site. If you have not yet signed a Statement of Peace, please do so now on-line. Also remember, that as witnesses to Christ, we come to bring the Love of Christ to the sidewalk. While this refers to everyone with whom we interact, it applies especially to Dr. Stutes and his staff. It is through his conversion of heart that we have the most to gain, especially if he repents of the abortions he has participated in and accepts Christ and His forgiveness.
Coming Events
- Carson City Church Fair –Oct 30-Nov 1, noon – 5 pm
- The St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City is holding a fair on Oct 30-Nov 1, with vendor booths from noon – 5 pm Fri & Sat, during which we have been invited to promote 40 Days for Life, and rides until 11 pm Fri & Sat and until 4 pm on Sunday. Thank you to the three volunteers, Laura who has stepped up to help on Friday, Joe who will be assisting on both Friday and Saturday and Dick who has offered to join the effort on Saturday. With a team of volunteers like this, who can go wrong! It turns out that this will be no simple Church Fair that St. Teresa’s is holding as they have contracted with a carnival ride firm to bring the good old-fashioned Fair fun to this Carson City Church. If you’d like to enjoy some wholesome family fun, pack-up the kids and head to St. Teresa’s this weekend, and don’t forget to stop by our booth and say “Hi”. While the vendor booths (as we’re called) will only be there on Friday and Saturday, the Fair will be continuing on Sunday as well.
- Wrap-up Rally – Sunday, Nov 1 – 5:00 Shofar, 6:00 Pot Luck Dinner, 7:00 Movie
- Mark your calendars for a true celebration, as we honor God for all the graces He has showered upon our campaign, this Fall and since we began this effort in the Fall of 2007. November 1st is the Catholic All Saints Day feast, the perfect time to join in celebration of all the Saints who have given their lives in service to Our Lord and to Thank Christ for the many graces He has showered on our campaign for the past 40 Days as we have sought to do His will. We have planned an event you will not want to miss. River Rock Christian Fellowship, having been recently blessed with a new Church home less than 2 miles from the West End Abortion Site, has graciously offered to allow us to use their facility for a Pot-Luck Dinner and Pro-Life Movie Night. We will end the 40 Day campaign with the blowing of the shofar at the sidewalk at 5 pm, along with a brief rally of prayer, scripture and sharing, and then we will proceed by car to their church for a pot-luck dinner of Celebration, as we fellowship and share our experiences of the past 40 Days. Our evening will conclude with a Pro-Life movie. Please, print a copy of our FLYER and with your Pastor’s permission, post it at your church for this weekend. Then, don’t forget to contact Millie at 775-348-9088 to confirm your attendance at this special evening. this weekend. If you are willing to help, contact us at renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com. Your assistance and participation are greatly appreciated. We are looking for help in putting on this event, so please do not be shy, step forward and get involved!

40 Days through Scripture
- Day 38 – Revelations 1-7 (including: Revelations 4:8-11)
- The four living creatures, each of them with six wings, were covered with eyes inside and out. Day and night they do not stop exclaiming: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, who was, and who is and who is to come.”
Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before the one who sits on the throne and worship him, who lives forever and ever. They throw down their crowns before the throne, exclaiming:
Worthy are you, Lord our God, to receive Glory and honor and power, for you created all things; because “of your will they came to be and were created.”

Student President Faces Removal after Allowing Pro-Life Display
[LifeSiteNews.com] - A Christian student government president in California is facing a recall amidst anger from some administration and students after the student government permitted a pro-life demonstration during the college's annual Constitution Day celebrations.
Constitution Day at Sacramento City College, which took place this year on September 16-17, is an annual celebration of the Constitution and free speech, which features external speakers and organizations who request an invitation from the Associated Student Government (ASG).
ASG president Steve Macias, 19, and student affairs commissioner Monica Guzman now risk losing their positions in a recall vote after the ASG welcomed the Genocide Awareness Project (GAP). Run by the Sanctity of Human Life Network, GAP draws a comparison between abortion and past genocidal atrocities through graphic images.
While the ASG voted unanimously in favor of the GAP display on September 2nd, in response to a request from the pro-life group, some ASG officials have since denounced the event, admitting they were not aware of the nature of the group when they voted.
"The way the voting works is you get a proposal to read it the week before and you have a week to read it over before you vote on it at the board meeting," Macias told WorldNetDaily. "I guess some of them hadn't read it over and voted on it without knowing what it was. I guess they probably saw Genocide Awareness Project and thought, 'That sounds fine.' They didn't really do their research or ask any questions."
Critics say that hosting GAP without inviting an alternate viewpoint manifested a biased position from the ASG, but, in a September 17th statement, Macias insisted that "the ASG has not endorsed any one side of the debate on the constitutionality of abortion."
Rather, they merely accepted the group's request, he said. "The ASG does not take into consideration the specific viewpoint of those who request to be a part of ASG events," he explained. "The determining factor in our Constitution Day events was based on whether or not they addressed constitutional issues that were relevant to students and stressed the importance of our nation's founding documents."
On the second day of the event, several pro-abortion groups came out in response to the GAP display. Planned Parenthood, the Queer-Straight Alliance club, the Sac City Freethinkers club, and SCC Health Services put up their own booths and passed out flyers.
"They set up tables across from their exhibit and harassed them the entire time they were there, throwing condoms at them, yelling at them, putting signs up and saying, 'A woman's choice is a woman's choice,'" Macias told WND.
Macias says that on the day of the event the administration took him out of class to demand that he shut down the GAP display, despite the fact that the campus is open to the public. To continue reading …

Abortion 101
The Adoption Option
Offering one’s child for Adoption takes courage and selflessness on the part of the birth mother, but this choice, as opposed to abortion, leaves her with the knowledge that she gave her child a chance at life, something that would not have been possible if she ended this new life before it barely got started. For those who are unable to provide a stable home, this is an option that may be right. The internet has a host of resources to help unexpected mom’s explore this option, including: http://www.childwelfare.gov/nfcad, http://www.itkteens.org, and http://www.ccsnn.org/AdoptionProgram.asp

U.S. House Speaker Pelosi wants to ram the pro-abortion health care bill through the House - Telephone your representative in the U.S. House today!
[NRLC] - This is an urgent congressional alert from the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) in Washington, D.C. Please act on this alert immediately. …
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Ca.) is planning to try to ram the massive health care bill (H.R. 3200) through the House on short notice, without allowing consideration of a critical pro-life amendment. National Right to Life is urging every pro-life citizen to immediately TELEPHONE the office of his or her representative in the U.S. House of Representatives with a clear and firm message urging a NO vote on the so-called "rule," which is the procedural vote that would allow passage of H.R. 3200 with no amendments allowed, and also to vote against the pro-abortion bill itself.
Even if you have already called and written your representatives in Congress about the health care bills, it is critical that you call again now. This will just take a few minutes. For guidance on how to make your call, click here, or go to the NRLC Legislative Action Center at http://www.capwiz.com/nrlc/ and click on the "Urgent Congressional Alert."
