National Campaign Daily Intention
We pray for a flowering of the joy of parenthood.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.— Psalm 127:35
I still vividly remember the day my first child was born. As she came into the world I gazed upon the most beautiful little baby I’d ever seen. Later I was driving home from the hospital for a shower and a fresh change of clothes when a song came on the radio, “The Men in My Little Girl’s Life”—a ballad about being a father as he watches his daughter grow through childhood to womanhood. I wept as I listened, knowing the years would go by very fast—and they did. Being a father, whenever I read the Psalm quoted above I’m always captivated by one word: “heritage.” It basically means “something passed down from a preceding generation.”
That little girl I watched being born and wept for is not mine to give to God like a product of our fertility, but rather His, which he has entrusted to us. So are all her siblings. My wife and I share a great treasure: precious lives, which are placed in our lineage that His life with us might be perpetuated. To the psalmist, this was a blessing from the Lawgiver, God Himself, who blessed Israel with another generation intended to continue their covenantal promise. For us in Christ, it is his gift of succeeding generations for His Church and the families. These days I’m looking upon my grandchildren, and rejoicing that my children and their spouses will pass on the greatness of Christ’s gospel to them and thus will continue the work of God in the world. What a blessing. What a heritage!

Never Give Up
The National campaign reports on why we pray at the abortion site, even when it is not open for business. Here is an excerpt from today’s update.
… It's Saturday, so you may find some unexpected "guests" at the Days for Life vigil sites today. In previous messages, I've mentioned some of the abortion supporters who feel obliged to "challenge" our prayer vigils, and Saturday seems to be the one day of the week they find time to come out.
Sarah left a note on the 40 Days for Life blog that sums up pretty well how to properly respond to these highly vocal critics. "When I get ridiculed for telling the truth, it only makes me pray more and encourages me to tell the truth," she said. "Let's never give up this good fight." …
To read the entire national update go to: http://40daysforlife.com/blog/?p=351. Please join us as we give witness to the truth at our sidewalk. Utilize this Right before someone puts in place an ordinance that removes our right to free speech.

Pro-Life is a Family Affair
While praying at the abortion site today, I was unexpectedly joined by Rosemary, a woman whom I’ve had the pleasure of talking to on the phone. Neither of us was on the schedule to be at the sidewalk, but had found a window of time in our days that allowed us to come and Pray to End Abortion. Shared a few minutes of pleasant greetings and then joined one another in praying. When we had finished a Rosary we resumed exchanging pleasantries when I learned that she is the mother of one of our key volunteers and grandmother to a teen who has played an key role in our area’s pro-life efforts since she first realized what abortion is while still a young girl of 12.
Have you felt that abortion is too adult a subject to share with your children? I suggest that it is the children who instinctively appreciate the humanity of the unborn and this innocent knowledge is something we want to capture and reinforce before the world corrupts their innocence. There are a number of local families who come to the abortion site to pray together. If you haven’t already done so, please consider bringing your children out to Pray to End Abortion. This could be your legacy, including your young ones in the battle to change our culture at a time when it was at its most bleak.
Please, spend an hour at the sidewalk tomorrow and then send me an email telling about your experiences! To register for the hours when you’ll be at the sidewalk, go to: http://www.vigilcalendar.com/renotahoe I thank you in advance for your assistance with this effort. Send your impressions of your time at the sidewalk to renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com.
I’d also like to bring your attention to our website, which has been undergoing major renovations, due to the assistance of our webmaster, Suzie. I encourage you to take at look by going to: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe
A Midway Rally?
I’ve been asked to hold another Rally, and due to schedule constraints the following weekend, I’m considering holding one next Saturday, Oct 17, if there is sufficient interest. Would you like to attend a Midway Rally next Saturday evening? Reply to renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com or call 530-412-1573.
Coming Events
- A Vigil of Mourning – Tuesday, Oct 13, 6:00 pm
- On the thirteenth of each month, a group gathers on the sidewalk outside the abortion site to remember the lives that will never be lived, the potential never realized because of the tragedy of abortion. Come join them, dressed in mourning, as they pray for God’s Mercy. You are welcome to bring a large votive candle.
- Pro-Life Solidarity Day – Oct 20, All Day
- [Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust] "The Survivors challenge students of all ages to be bold advocates for the 3,500 preborn who are murdered everyday in our country. You have an opportunity to stand with your fellow classmates and an obligation to be a voice for the voiceless. By standing in united solidarity across the world, students everywhere can identify with the preborn children, and our silence will proclaim 'stop killing our generation!' We can and must be warriors for the preborn!" Read the article from Survivors regarding this day long event.

40 Days through Scripture
- Day 18: John 20 – Acts 4 (including: Acts 3:1-10)
- Now Peter and John were going up to the temple area for the three o’clock hour of prayer. And a man crippled from birth was carried and placed at the gate of the temple called “the Beautiful Gate” every day to beg for alms from the people who entered the temple. When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms. But Peter looked intently at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” He paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them. Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, [rise and] walk.” Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong. He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the one who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with amazement and astonishment at what had happened to him.
If Christ can make the lame walk through His apostles, He can use us to bring about an end to abortion. Become a part of the solution, join us as we Pray to End Abortion.

Abortionist arrested after punching woman in face
[as reported by ALL Daily News Summary] Sandy Springs police have arrested a Marietta doctor suspected of punching a woman in the face during a Monday afternoon road rage incident. Daniel E. McBrayer, 58, was arrested following an investigation into an assault reported by a woman who told police that McBrayer, following a traffic altercation, got out of his car at the intersection of Roswell and Abernathy roads, walked up to her car and struck her in the face, Sandy Springs police Lt. Steve Rose said. McBrayer is an ob-gyn who, according to the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners, was disciplined in 2001 for performing second-trimester abortions in his Marietta office. Performance of abortions after the first-trimester in a non-hospital setting or in an unlicensed abortion facility is a violation of Georgia law. Read the original article.

Top Cervical Cancer Vaccine Researcher Warns about its Dangers
[as reported by ALL Daily News Summary] One of the key researchers involved in the clinical trials for both Gardasil and Cevarix cervical cancer vaccines has gone public with warnings about their safety and effectiveness. This highly unusual warning against these vaccines by one of Big Pharma's own researchers surfaced in an exclusive interview with the Sunday Express in the UK over the last few days.
