National Campaign Daily Intention
We pray for the conversion of abortionists and all abortion advocates
Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. — Isaiah 1:16-17
God is just.
Inscribed around the inside of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC, are the immortal words of Thomas Jefferson: "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just." If the deist, Jefferson, knew in the depths of his being that God is just, how much more ought we Christians to reflect on this profound truth? The justice of God, like his holiness and his purity, encourages us to seek justice for all people. It is the evil deeds and wrong, selfish attitudes of our modern society that have led to the cavalier acceptance of abortion and euthanasia. But, as Jefferson also said, "his justice will not sleep forever."
God is calling us today to seek justice, to encourage the oppressed, and to de‐fend the orphans and widows of our society. It is a noble calling! It is one which every true believer, every God‐fearing man and woman, should heed with no hesitation and no reluctance. To follow the God of justice and truth is to stand unequivocally for the right to life of everyone, especially the unborn, the physically disabled, and the terminally ill. God's word through the prophet Isaiah is as relevant in today's 21st century world as it was in Isaiah's 8th century BC world. May God's grace help us to defend the unborn's right to life as well as that of the already born.

Whom Do You Serve?
The National campaign reports on how the campaign is progressing around the country. Here is an excerpt from today's update.
We're hearing a lot about service these days -- giving back to the community. What better way to give back something truly valuable than by taking part in this fall's 40 Days for Life campaign! I have a particular reason for mentioning this.
This past Friday, President Obama spoke at a forum on volunteerism at Texas A&M University in College Station -- the same community where 40 Days for Life began. His speech was delivered just over one mile away from the site of the first-ever 40 Days for Life campaign back in 2004. During his remarks, President Obama promoted a government web site that identifies various volunteer opportunities for people.
While that web site does include information about some pro-life organizations, I was more than a bit miffed to learn that one of the posted "volunteer opportunities" comes from the Houston-based Planned Parenthood operation that runs the abortion facility in College Station.
The recruitment post asks young people to do "public service" work for their organization and pleads, "We need your help with a very simple but honorable job." The so-called honorable job? Abortion escorts -- specifically to counter the effectiveness of 40 Days for Life.
Planned Parenthood describes 40 Days for Life vigil participants as people who "want to deceive our clients with misinformation and lies then prevent them from entering our health center for care." That in itself, of course, is an extreme example of misinformation.
But this shows why 40 Days for Life needs more faithful volunteers for the simple -- and TRULY honorable -- task of praying for an end to abortion outside the very places where this evil is practiced. …

Local Campaign News
Is it an Assault?
Yesterday's campaign news shared that the police responded to the sidewalk, and that their questioning of Paul had frightened two of our young prayer volunteers. But what exactly happened before hand was not known. According to Paul, he was at the sidewalk praying and walking back and forth in front of the abortion site, when the overgrown bushes and their thorns scratched him enough to draw blood. This being the case, he decided to write a note asking that they trim the bushes, and rather than mailing it to them, he decided to walk down the driveway and deliver it directly to the personnel who were inside the building. It is recommended that you do NOT walk onto the property of the abortion site, at any time, for any reason. But Paul felt that he had a justifiable reason to enter the property, which was to request that they trim the bushes that were obstructing the sidewalk.
Upon approaching the door of the facility he came to a foyer with a locked door, requiring that those approaching buzz the intercom before being let into the building. He proceeded to press the button and then explain to the receptionist who answered his ring that he had a note that he would like to leave. They chose not to open the door, directing him to leave the note on the bench in the entry, which he was about to do, when a man drove up to the parking lot on the property. Paul simply gave his note to this gentleman who proceeded to bring it into the office. Again, according to Paul, the note merely requested that they trim the bushes so that no-one would be hurt by them.
After dropping off the note, he spent a little more time at the sidewalk, before leaving for an hour. Upon his return, there was a dark blue SUV parked in front of the facility, driven by an officer who identified herself as a member of the FBI. She began asking Paul about his entry to the abortion site property, until shortly after they began talking another three police cars responded. One of the officers pointed across the street to the field which is airport property, and told him that he was no longer allowed to trespass there. It took a few minutes before Paul realized that this police officer was actually an officer from the Airport Authority, who had the authority to make such a request for what otherwise is unposted, unrestricted open space. He will no longer be building cross monuments on the property across from the abortion site. The abortion site employee was also asked by one of the police officers to come out to the sidewalk to express to Paul that he was not allowed to enter their property for any reason in the future. Paul has indicated that he has no intentions of doing so in the future.
"But where is the question of an assault?", you may ask, after reading this far and looking back at the headline to this story. …
Paul was praying at the sidewalk the other day when it unexpectedly began to rain, or so he thought. He quickly realized that he was on the receiving end of an assault by water. In the past we have called the water authority to complain that the abortion site management is using water on days that are not associated with their watering schedule. But it hasn't previously been considered that this could qualify as an assault. If someone were walking on the sidewalk in front of your home and you turned your hose on them, spraying them with water, would it not be considered an assault? Hmm… It's certainly something to consider. If anyone reading this knows a definitive answer, please let us know so the appropriate action can be taken to ensure that those who come to pray in peace are not unduly abused during their visit to the sidewalk.
Do you Pray to End Abortion? If so, are you willing to take that prayer to the sidewalk and be a visible witness to the fact that we are Pro-Life and willing to be counted as such? Please, spend an hour or more at the sidewalk tomorrow and send an email telling about your experiences! - The St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City will be having a fair on Oct 30-31, from noon – 5 pm each day, during which we have been invited to promote 40 Days for Life. We are looking for 2 or more volunteers to assist with the booth on Friday and at least one volunteer to assist on Saturday. Does your schedule permit you to join in this opportunity to share the message regarding 40 Days for Life with church-goers who are likely to be open to the message of life? - Wrap-up Rally – Sunday, Nov 1 – 5:00 Shofar, 6:00 Pot Luck Dinner, 7:00 Movie
- Mark your calendars for a true celebration, as we honor God for all the graces He has showered upon our campaign, this Fall and since we began this effort in the Fall of 2007. November 1st is the Catholic All Saints Day feast, the perfect time to join in celebration of all the Saints who have given their lives in service to Our Lord and to Thank Christ for the many graces He has showered on our campaign for the past 40 Days as we have sought to do His will.
- Ideas being explored as we plan an event you will not want to miss. River Rock Christian Fellowship, having been recently blessed with a new Church home less than 2 miles from the West End Abortion Site, has graciously offered to allow us to use their facility for a Pot-Luck Dinner and Pro-Life Movie Night. We will end the 40 Day campaign with the blowing of the shofar at the sidewalk at 5 pm, along with a brief rally of prayer, scripture and sharing, and then we will proceed by car to their church for a pot-luck dinner of Celebration, as we fellowship and share our experiences of the past 40 Days. Our evening will conclude with a Pro-Life movie.
- If you are willing to help, contact us at renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com. Your assistance and participation are greatly appreciated. We are looking for help in putting on this event, so please do not be shy, step forward and get involved!

40 Days through Scripture
- Day 28 I Corinthians 16 – II Corinthians 9 (including: II Corinthians 4: 1-6)
- Therefore, since we have this ministry through the mercy shown us, we are not discouraged. Rather, we have renounced shameful, hidden things; not acting deceitfully or falsifying the word of God, but by the open declaration of the truth we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. And even though our gospel is veiled, it is veiled for those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that they may not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for the sake of Jesus. For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to bring to light the knowledge of the glory of God on the face of [Jesus] Christ.

Every Pro-Life American Must Tell Congress Now
[Nevada Right to Life] - The Healthcare Reform debate continues. Your voice in April, May, June, July and August was heard. But have you called your Congressman and Senators recently?
Big abortion is hoping you are tired and you are not paying attention. They don't want to hear from you when they are behind closed doors making decisions that will affect all of us for decades to come.
- Big abortion and its pushers in Washington are hoping that you didn't notice that every attempt to explicitly exclude taxpayer dollars -- your dollars -- from being funneled off to pay for abortions and abortion coverage.
- They are hoping you didn't notice that language protecting the conscience rights of doctors, nurses and healthcare providers was rejected by YOUR elected representatives.
- They are hoping you didn't notice that the pro-abort Senator Frank Lautenberg has offered an amendment to a State, Foreign Operations Appropriations bill, S. 1434, making President Obama's overturning of the Mexico City Policy permanent.
- Under his language, the only way to reverse it and restore the ban on funding the foreign work of pro-abortion groups and abortion businesses would be to pass a bill to do so or a bill with an amendment reversing the language. That would make it much more difficult to restore the Mexico City Policy and would ensure the US's continued funding of abortion overseas.
Take a few minutes and make some calls, write some e-mails, drop a line. Let those who work for YOU in Washington know ABORTION IS NOT HEALTHCARE.
Thank you for giving voice to the voiceless - the preborn, the marginalized and the elderly. To Take Action
