NationalCampaign Daily Intention
Pray for those who workin the abortion industry, and for those who have repented of committingabortions and have resolved to defend life.
Jesus called out with aloud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this,he breathed his last. The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God andsaid, “Surely this was a righteous man.”
—Luke23:4647
“Those of us who have participated in the killing of unbornchildren are the Centurions of today. We have dropped our swords against theunborn child. Now we must recognize the depth of our guilt and deal with theramifications... To revitalize our humanity we need to forgive and be forgiven,to reconcile and be healed.”
These words come from a brochure of the Society of Centurions,an organization for former abortion providers. These words convey in abeautiful and moving way what is happening across the nation as hundreds ofabortionists and their staff members experience repentance, conversion, andhealing.
How does this conversion begin? Dr. Philip Ney writes, “Thefactors that hanged their opinion on performing abortions, in the followingorder of frequency, were: evidence of the infant’s humanity, a spiritualexperience, personal distress, evidence of the mother’s distress, scientificarticles, being accepted as a person, a personal relationship with a pro-lifer,pro-life pickets.” (The Centurion’s Pathway, p. 77).
The journey is not easy. But the Jesus who heals us calls us toface the truth of what we’ve done, make restitution where possible, and engagein the hard work of mending relationships. Let’s pray for the Centurions; maytheir numbers increase!

Baby Saved at Kick-Off Event!
At the St. Louis kickoff rally that evening, "we sang, prayed and had achance to meet many new people," said local coordinator Brian Westbrook."God truly blessed us with an exciting night."
Butthe excitement was just beginning. At the end of the long day, Brian went home, checked his e-mail and found this message:
"I just wanted to let you know that today justbefore we left the clinic, as we were wrapping up and praying together, one ofthe sidewalk counselors came over and let us know that a couple who had goneinto the clinic in the morning had just left and decided to keep their baby. So praise God, I believe that's the first fruits of what's to come over the next 40 days."
Briansaid, "What an incredible start to these 40 Days for Life. I cannot waitto see what God has in store for us this fall. Keep praying and fasting and oneday we will see an end to abortion."

Reno AlreadyRealizes Our 1st Save!
Day 2 – We’vejust finished our Kick-off Procession and Rally and already we have our 1stsave to report from the Reno Abortion Site! While at the sidewalk,Carol Marie and Caryle were blessed to have the opportunity to participate in savinga child on the first day of our local campaign. Aida came to theabortion site, conflicted about her 14 week pregnancy. Herboyfriend is uncertain that he’s prepared for the responsibilities of being afather and she fears for where she’ll live if she continues thepregnancy. Thankfully, we were there to let her know that there areoptions to an abortion, she can make another choice, she can give her childlife and we are there to help her meet whatever needs come her way.
I was able toshare with her the story from the last week of our Spring Campaign, when afather came out to explain to the sidewalk counselors why he and his wife wereat the abortion site. The child his wife was carrying was not his,and while they were both Hispanic, the man who had fathered this child wasAnglo. How could he possibly raise such a child that would be aconstant reminder of his wife’s infidelity? Members from ourcampaign worked with him to help him appreciate that every child is a gift fromGod, but that if he was unable to raise the child, a home could be found, thatabortion did not have to be the answer to this dilemma. He was putin touch with a Spanish speaking nun who continued to work with the couple andthey were also referred to the Reno Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Just lastweekend, a baby shower was held for this couple and the husband is now thrilledthat they will be having a son, the son they have always wanted. And the community has stepped forward to provide for their needs, as they add athird child to their family.
Hearing thisstory gave Aida the courage she needed to choose life for herchild. We also shared with her the developmental facts about herchild, using the “Before You Choose” brochure which we have available in bothSpanish and English. She now realizes that she is already a mom andshe is beginning to appreciate that she has a responsibility to protect herunborn child. Please pray for her as she continues to work throughthe challenges ahead. She still needs to discuss this decision withthe father of her child. Let us pray that he appreciate the beautyof the unexpected life that is now growing within her womb.

40Days through Scripture
- Day 2: Matthew 8 – 12
- Matt11:20-24 Then he began to reproach the towns where most of hismighty deeds had been done, since they had not repented. “Woe to you,Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done inyour midst had been done in Tyre or Sidon, they would long ago have repented insackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyreand Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And as for you,Capernaum: ‘Will you be exalted in heaven? You will go down to thenetherworld.’ For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done inSodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you, itwill be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than foryou.”
Do we tend to forget, in all that weknow of God’s infinite Love, that He is also infinite Justice and that He haspromised that Hell is also possible for those who do not repent of their sin?
