Day 23 - Literature Given Despite Sprinklers

Literature Given Despite Sprinklers

Table of Contents

National Campaign Daily Intention

We pray for the strength to love those who do not love us.

But the Lord said “You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in the night and perished in the night. And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left, and much livestock? Should I not be concerned about that great city?” Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, in His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.— Jonah 4:10-11

God doesn’t value people and things like we do. Jonah loved a shade tree more than an entire city of sinful people. We love our dogs more than a terrorist. We love our cars more than a beggar on the side of the road. And sometimes, we love our money more than a child growing in a desperate teenager’s womb. But God isn’t like us. Genesis 1 tells us that humans were the capstone of God's creation.

We were created on the sixth day after God had completed the land, the stars, the pants and the animals. Therefore, His love for us is greater than His love for a plant, an animal, or any other created thing.

And the book of Jonah tells us that He loves even the most sinful people and seeks to bring them into His merciful arms. And it’s a love that seeks to touch all of his created children: that desperate teenager, the baby growing in her womb, even tyrants and terrorists.

So it’s up to us to imitate God's merciful love by helping and praying for those who persecute us, and those who don’t love us back.

Planned Parenthood Abortion Center Closing

The National campaign reports on how the campaign is progressing around the country. Here is an excerpt from today’s update. In the meantime, there have been 256 lives saved thus far.

We just got word that a Planned Parenthood abortion center in Kalispell, Montana will be closing down for good next month.

CLOSING!!

And—you guessed it—that facility was the location of Kalispell's 40 Days for Life vigil this past spring!

Planned Parenthood told the local media it is closing the center for economic reasons—or as Stacy James, a Montana Planned Parenthood executive, admitted to the daily newspaper, "We've not had the patient numbers to keep the doors open."

She then went on to blame the economy, the recession, the health care crunch and a lack of government subsidies. Ms. James said nothing at all, however, about the 40 days of prayer, fasting and constant vigil in front of the Kalispell facility this spring.…

Literature Given Despite Dodging Sprinklers

Karen wrote telling of her 2 ½ hours at the sidewalk yesterday, along with from 1 – 4 other prayer volunteers during her time of prayer. In addition to praying, Karen had on hand the “Before You Choose” brochures, which anyone heading to the sidewalk is welcome to have (we have plenty of copies which we are happy to provide to you at no cost.) She found that even though the sprinklers were being turned on and off in what she describes as a teasing manner, she was still able to be at the driveway when a young family departed after only being at the abortion site for approximately 10 minutes. In addition to our “Before you Choose” brochure, Karen also shared a leaflet titled “A Baby Died”. This family was complete with a young father driving what appeared to be his wife, and two young children in the back of the car. Let us pray that their willingness to receive Karen’s literature and the short duration of their stay indicates that they are open to the life growing within her womb.

In addition to the use of sprinklers used to discourage prayer volunteers from staying on the sidewalk in front of the abortion site, the abortion facility also played the George Carlin track but Karen and those at the sidewalk with her were not dissuaded from their prayers. They simply prayed a little louder.

Are you prepared to pray through a challenge in the hopes of saving a life? Please, spend an hour at the sidewalk tomorrow and send an email telling about your experiences! To register for the hours when you’ll be at the sidewalk, go to: http://www.vigilcalendar.com/renotahoe. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this effort. 40 Days through Scripture

Day 23 Acts 27– Romans 4 (including: Romans 3:1-8)
What advantage is there then in being a Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? Much, in every respect. [For] in the first place, they were entrusted with the utterances of God. What if some were unfaithful? Will their infidelity nullify the fidelity of God? Of Course not! God must be true, though every human being is a liar, as it is written:

“That you may be justified in your words, and conquer when you are judged.” (Ps 51:6b)

Study Claiming 70,000 Women Die From Illegal Abortions Relies on Dubious Facts

[LifeNews.com] - The Guttmacher Institute released a study on Tuesday claiming 70,000 women die from illegal abortions every year worldwide. However, the statistics appear to be based on disputed figures and claims from pro-abortion groups and abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood.

As LifeNews.com reported yesterday, the Guttmacher Institute study is based on the work of numerous organizations that have as their main agenda promoting the legalization of abortion on a global scale.

Today, pro-life advocates analyzed and commented on the report and found it to be so polemic that they referred to it as a propaganda piece.

Still, the mainstream media is taking the Guttmacher report as gospel and showering it with headlines proclaiming the 70,000 figure.. Read the Entire Article.

"This is one where I found myself with egg on my face. I cut and pasted without closely reading beyond a headline that claimed lots of deaths to abortion. It even missed my attention that they were claiming that increased use of contraceptives were leading to lower abortions, something I know to be patently false. Please accept my apologies for passing on what was so obviously false information." ~ Carol Marie

Komen’s Dark Side

[Facing Life Head On] — Eve Silver once worked for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, America’s largest breast cancer awareness and prevention organization. Eve sat on the board of Komen’s Latino Advisory Committee, which focused on educating Latino women to lower their rate of breast cancer diagnosis. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, Eve had a personal connection to this cause. Then she found out that the abortion she had years earlier increased her risk of a breast cancer diagnosis. Not only did Eve become aware of the 36 scientific studies supporting this link, but she realized the money being raised by Susan G. Komen was funding Planned Parenthood; the number one provider of abortions in America. Watch the video.

Pregnancy Resource Centers

[Family Research Council] Over the past 40 years a movement of women and men has created and sustained a vital service in an area of unsurpassed need. Exemplifying the enduring American principles of voluntary and selfless giving, a mustard seed of concern for women facing unexpected pregnancies has blossomed into dynamic national and international networks of love in action. Today, through a massive commitment of personal time and professional services, the movement to provide pregnancy-related resources encompasses thousands of centers worldwide that bring aid and hope to millions of people each year.

The scope of these centers varies but their mission is single-hearted: to communicate to women and their families that their lives are valuable and that their needs - emotional, psychological, medical, spiritual and practical - can and will be met. With honesty and compassion, the global pregnancy resource movement now offers powerful community-based programs whose accomplishments are a story not yet fully told. The goal of this report is to embark upon that telling, to provide to layman and professional alike, to the legislator and the citizen - to all people of goodwill - an account of the good that is being done in our midst.
