Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never‐failingstream!
 —Amos 5:24 —

Justice, a key theme of the Scriptures, is something God doesand that we too must do. When God intervenes to save his people when they are helplessand in slavery in Egypt, he “does justice.” He manifested his justice in the plagues that were sent uponEgypt, whereby Pharaoh was convinced that he must let the people go. Justice is manifested as, in awe and wonder, God’s people seethe Red Sea open before them, allow them to pass without even getting theirfeet wet, and then close again to drown their powerful enemies. God is a God of Justice; he rescues us when we cannot saveourselves. His justice, above all, is seen in Jesus Christ, who, when wecould not save ourselves, rescued us from the kingdom of sin, Satan, death, andhell. The mighty work of Christ on the cross and in the resurrectionis the perfect manifestation of God as the God of justice. We, then, are to bethe people of justice; we are to “do justice” by intervening to save the helplessin the name and by the power of the God who saves us who are helplessourselves. That’s why we have a pro‐life movement; that’s why we have a 40Days for Life Campaign; that’s why saving the unborn is our business.

"Godis working in more ways than we can imagine."

That subjectline jumped out from the hundreds of e-mail messages that pour in to my inboxevery day.The story thatfollowed certainly offered proof!

The writertold of her daughter, who was raised in the church and grew into a youngteenager who "was more spiritual than I ever thought I could be. She wasso mature in her faith and her relationship with Christ. It amazed me howsomeone so young could 'get it' even more than I. She used to drag her friendsto church activities and pray for them all the time. She even went on a missiontrip."

As is theunfortunate case with many young people, there also came a time of rebellion.In the 11th grade, she got involved with a group at school thatdidn't exactly practice Christian principles. "It influenced her walk withGod and she drew away from Him," this mother wrote, "to the point ofleaving church and moving in with her boyfriend at the end of her junior year."This young man"does not approve of our deep faith in God and we do not get along withhim very well at all," she wrote. But her daughter did finish school.Later, she andher boyfriend got married.

Soon afterward, the young wife became pregnant, and thecouple's financial situation was pretty shaky. They even had to turn tocharitable assistance to make it through this time.The mother whowrote this story is now a grandmother -- her daughter's little girl is anincredible blessing, but she said her son-in-law hasn't been much help. Withthe arrival of the new baby, however, the mother and daughter have beenspending more time together, repairing their broken relationship.

So what doesthis have to do with 40 Days for Life? Well, thewoman who shared this story is a vigil coordinator for one of the localcampaigns, and her daughter saw her working on the vigil schedule. The youngwoman noticed blank spaces on the schedule.She looked upand asked, "What will you all do for these blank spots?""I told herGod will send His people to fill those slots. She looked at me and said, 'Well,maybe you and I could go together sometimes. I'd like to take the baby up thereon the day they do the abortions and pray. Maybe seeing my precious baby willmake one girl stop and think twice about what she's getting ready to do andshe'll change her mind.'"

The motherheld back her tears and suggested they all go pray together every Thursday.She isthankful that God is using the prayer vigil to save babies, that He is using 40Days for Life to restore relationships, and that He is drawing her daughterback to His heart. "We servesuch a mighty and awesome God," she said."I knowit's not quite a 'baby is saved' story, but I believe eternally it willbe."Please holdthis family in your prayers. Who knows what amazing work God will do next?

" Then Judas, his betrayer, seeing that Jesus hadbeen condemned, deeply regretted what he had done.  He returned the thirtypieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, “I have sinned inbetraying innocent blood.”   They said, “What is that to us?  Look to it yourself.”   Flinging the money into the temple, hedeparted and went off and hanged himself.   The chief priestsgathered up the money, but said, “It is not lawful to deposit this in thetemple treasury, for it is the price of blood.”  After consultation, theyused it to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners.  Thatis why that field, even today is called the Field of Blood.   Thenwas fulfilled what had been said through Jeremiah the prophet, “And they tookthe thirty pieces of silver, the value of a man with a price on his head, aprice set by some of the Israelites, and they paid it out for the potter’sfield just as the Lord had commanded me.”

Know, that regardless of the gravityof your sin, it cannot exceed that forgiveness available through JesusChrist.   How sad, that after all the time he spent with Jesus, henever understood who he is, what he stands for, he never appreciated all thatJesus had come to offer, a prize far greater than all the riches of the world,greater than all the power offered to the greatest rules of thisworld.   And then, when it dawned on him that he had betrayed aninnocent man, he failed to appreciate the gift of his own life, and thepossibilities that each day offer us.   The possibility of offeringourselves as a gift to God, each day we draw breath.

AbortionCenter Workers in California Sentenced for Illegal, Unlicensed Abortions

[LifeNews.com, San Diego, CA] -- Two accomplices of Bertha Bugarin, who was convicted of doing illegal,unlicensed abortions at her abortion business in southern California, have beenconvicted as well. The abortion workers will have lighter sentences, but apro-life group says the conclusion of the case is a good one. That is becausethe abortion centers Bugarin ran, which preyed on Hispanic women, are nowclosed. With the abortion practitioners her centers hired having their ownlegal problems, Bertha Pinedo Bugarin, 48, took it upon herself to doabortions. As LifeNews.com reported in April, Bugarinwas sentenced on a second set of charges that she did abortions without amedical license. Now, according to the San Diego County District Attorney'soffice, Chula Vista abortion center workers Luz Catalina-Gomez and Paloma YonnaSolorzano-Rodriguez reached a sentencing agreement with San Diego SuperiorCourt Judge Ted Wethers for probation and community service. Catalina-Gomez wassentenced to 1 year of prison, a term that was stayed pending the completion of350 hours of community service. She will also receive three years probation.Solorzano-Rodriguez was sentenced to 1 year of prison, stayed pending thecompletion of 200 hours of community service.
