National Campaign Daily Intention
Pray for post‐abortive women who cannot forgive themselves; may they understand that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sin is covered. Blessed is the one to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.—Romans 4:7-8
In the passage above, the Apostle Paul making a point about justification by faith, refers back to David’s words in Psalm 32:1‐2. In spite of the enormity of David’s sin—adultery with Bathsheba and his murder of her husband—and the utter absence of any personal merit, David in his brokenness, understood the imputed righteousness of God. David’s response was not continued guilt over his sins, but praise for his freedom from guilt, and God’s power to live life differently. Once your relationship with God has been restored, your guilt has served its purpose and should no longer be given place in your life. This is true regardless of the particular sin, including the sin of abortion.
As a post‐abortive woman, I too struggled with this issue until I realized that punishing and hating myself after receiving God’s forgiveness was an insult to God. It was as though I were minimizing Christ’s work on the cross as insufficient to cover my sin. I was denying Him the opportunity to bring glory to His name for the healing and restoration He wanted to do in my life. I was giving victory to the enemy who having lost the battle for my soul, was bent on destroying my testimony as I accepted the continual guilt he heaped on my mind.
It is my joy to continually sing of God’s grace rather than give the devil a foot‐hold in my life. Don’t waste God’s mercy! Accept His forgiveness and for‐give yourself as testimony of His amazing grace.

National Campaign News
Sometimes it Takes a While
The National campaign reports on how the campaign is progressing around the country. Here is an excerpt from today’s update.
As we enter the final days of this 40 Days for Life campaign, please keep in mind that God does not always grant the blessing of seeing immediate results from our efforts.
Such is the case in one 40 Days for Life community where the campaign has been conducted several times. Participants knew that because of their peaceful, prayerful witness outside the abortion clinic, lives had been saved from abortion. But what was really going on inside that building?
One person found out in a most surprising way. This person was not scheduled to pray at this particular day and time, but stopped by the vigil following a meeting. The clinic manager stepped outside to clean windows, so the vigil participant saw an opportunity.
"I spoke kindly and introduced myself."
About half an hour later, the manager came out and asked to talk -- "and invited me into the clinic!"
To say the least, what followed was an interesting conversation.
The manager wanted to explain and justify what goes on at the clinic, but it seemed like this clinic staffer was offering excuses for being involved in the abortion business. Furthermore, the manager professed to be a Christian who was certain "in my heart" that this was God's calling, and that what goes on in the clinic is not wrong.
"I asked if the manager's heart had ever been wrong," said the vigil participant, "and did my best to lovingly communicate my disagreement and the reasons I am passionate about defending both the unborn and their mothers. I said that Jesus cared for children, and that it does not matter what anyone thinks about when a fetus is a person or whether abortion is wrong. What matters is what God thinks; what Jesus thinks."…

The Doctors Didn’t Even Encourage Her
At this evening’s Youth event, held at Little Flower Catholic Church, Kat, a Polish mother of a two year old daughter shared with us this report:
When Kat was only 21 weeks pregnant, she began to suffer challenges in her pregnancy that threatened to result in her child being delivered prematurely. Because at 21 weeks the child is not considered to be viable outside the mother’s womb, she was told that if her child were delivered this early in the pregnancy, there could be any number of complications, from death, to blindness, to mental retardation. She was neither encouraged to fight for the life of her child nor given much hope that such a commitment would likely yield successful results, but she knew that if God wanted her daughter to survive, that she wanted to leave it to God, and He would provide.
She accepted that the only way to give her daughter a fighting chance was for her to remain on bed-rest for at least 3 weeks, and possibly longer, in the hopes of delaying the early delivery of her child, giving her every possible chance of maturing to the point that she could survive outside the womb. Her doctor commented that in his 17 years of practice, she was the first mother facing such a choice that had been willing to sacrifice her own comfort for 3 weeks to fight for the life of her child. I makes me wonder was it his manner of encouragement (or lack thereof) that failed to strengthen women to handle the challenge of a few weeks that would result in saving her child’s life? Or have we really sunk as a culture to such depths that when a woman’s own child is struggling for life, that she can’t be bothered with the discomfort of spending a few weeks laying down when it can save the life of her own child. Have we bought into the lie that only a healthy life is worthy of being lived, so that parents are led to believe that a child that might have a disability are better off dead?
Whatever the cause, this beautiful child, who is now two years old and with no discernable disabilities, was abandoned by her doctors, who didn’t feel the need or responsibility to encourage her mother when decisions needed to be made. Kat says that the pain of staying completely immobilized for 3 weeks was nothing compared to the sense that she was in this all alone, that her doctors had no appreciation for the worth-while nature of her desire to strive to save her child, that was the hardest part of her ordeal.
What will happen to children like Kat’s daughter if health care rationing is put in place, with doctors being penalized for cost over-runs? Will doctors who see each life as precious suffer the loss of their practices due to government incentives and disincentives that penalize them for even allowing a parent to make the decision that Kat made to give her daughter a chance at life?
Remember to Pray When you Come to the Sidewalk
One of our prayer volunteers commented that we need to remember (and she included herself in this admonition) to pray while standing at the sidewalk, rather than lapsing into conversation with the others who come to the sidewalk. It is our prayers, more than anything else, that will make the difference, therefore, remember to utilize our most powerful weapon against abortion, the power of prayer. She recommends that if you’d like to visit with others who have also come to the sidewalk that you take your conversation to Denny’s afterwards (or other similar location).
Correction – Police Non-Emergency Number – 775 334-2099
I’ve been told that the number we have been asked to use for the current campaign, is 775-334-2099. If you’d like to report being sprayed by the watering system or having music blasted while you’re at the sidewalk, please use this Reno Police non-emergency line.
Before you come out to pray, please sign a Statement of Peace which can be found on-line at: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/StatementofPeace. If you can get to the sidewalk in Reno, to register for the hours when you’ll be at the sidewalk, go to: http://www.vigilcalendar.com/renotahoe. For those who live close to Carson City, please consider going to the sidewalk in front of the Tahoe Women’s Care, located on Mica Drive. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this effort. To register for your time there, go to: http://www.vigilcalendar.com/carsoncity. Don’t forget to send your impressions of your time at the sidewalk to renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com.
Our website has been undergoing major renovations, due to the assistance of our webmaster, Suzie. Take at look by going to: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe and don’t miss the Resources section!
Remember, if you have plan to participate as a member of 40 Days for Life, you are asked to follow the law, including those that apply to private property. Do not enter the property of the abortion site and do not leave “Litter” behind when you depart. This includes large crosses on the public land directly across from the abortion site. If you have not yet signed a Statement of Peace, please do so now on-line. Also remember, that as witnesses to Christ, we come to bring the Love of Christ to the sidewalk. While this refers to everyone with whom we interact, it applies especially to Dr. Stutes and his staff. It is through his conversion of heart that we have the most to gain, especially if he repents of the abortions he has participated in and accepts Christ and His forgiveness.
Wrap-up Rally & Celebration, Nov 1st, 5 pm
Just around the corner is our Wrap-up Celebration, at which we will blow a Shofar at the sidewalk to mark the end of the campaign. After a brief Rally at the sidewalk, we will proceed by car, slightly less than 2 miles to the River Rock Christian Fellowship, located at 4690 Longley Lane, Reno. At 6 pm there will be a Pot Luck Dinner, followed by a movie at 7 pm. Please download a copy of our Flyer and ask your church to post it this weekend. www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/flyer
Do you know how to drive a trailer? If so, please contact Carol Marie for help with a task this Sunday,

Coming Events
- Carson City Church Fair – Volunteers Found – Fri / Sat Oct 30-31, noon – 5 pm
- The St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City will be having a fair on Oct 30-31, from noon – 5 pm each day, during which we have been invited to promote 40 Days for Life. Thank you to the two volunteers, Laura who has stepped up to help on Friday, to Joe who will be assisting on both Friday and Saturday and to Dick who has offered to join the effort on Saturday. With a team of volunteers like this, who can go wrong! It turns out that this will be no simple Church Fair that St. Teresa’s is holding, they have contracted with a carnival ride firm to bring the good old-fashioned Fair fun to this Carson City Church. If you’d like to enjoy some wholesome family fun, pack-up the kids and head to St. Teresa’s this weekend, and don’t forget to stop by our booth and say “Hi”. While the vendor booths (as we’re called) will only be there on Friday and Saturday, the Fair will be continuing on Sunday as well.
- Wrap-up Rally – Sunday, Nov 1 – 5:00 Shofar, 6:00 Pot Luck Dinner, 7:00 Movie
- Mark your calendars for a true celebration, as we honor God for all the graces He has showered upon our campaign, this Fall and since we began this effort in the Fall of 2007. November 1st is the Catholic All Saints Day feast, the perfect time to join in celebration of all the Saints who have given their lives in service to Our Lord and to Thank Christ for the many graces He has showered on our campaign for the past 40 Days as we have sought to do His will. We have planned an event you will not want to miss. River Rock Christian Fellowship, having been recently blessed with a new Church home less than 2 miles from the West End Abortion Site, has graciously offered to allow us to use their facility for a Pot-Luck Dinner and Pro-Life Movie Night. We will end the 40 Day campaign with the blowing of the shofar at the sidewalk at 5 pm, along with a brief rally of prayer, scripture and sharing, and then we will proceed by car to their church for a pot-luck dinner of Celebration, as we fellowship and share our experiences of the past 40 Days. Our evening will conclude with a Pro-Life movie. Please, print a copy of our FLYER and with your Pastor’s permission, post it at your church for this weekend. Then, don’t forget to contact Millie at 775-348-9088 to confirm your attendance at this special evening. If you are willing to help, contact us at renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com. Your assistance and participation are greatly appreciated. We are looking for help in putting on this event, so please do not be shy, step forward and get involved!

40 Days through Scripture
- Day 35 - Hebrews 11 – James 5 (including: Hebrews 12:1-13)
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God. Consider how he endured such opposition from sinners, in order that you may not grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood. You have also forgotten the exhortation addressed to you as sons: “My son, do not disdain the discipline of the Lord or lose heart when reproved by him; for whom the Lord loves, he disciplines; he scourges every son he acknowledges.”
Endure your trials as “discipline”; God treats you as sons. For what “son” is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are without discipline, in which all have shared, are you not sons but bastards. Besides this, we have had our earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them. Should we not [then] submit all the more to the Father of spirits and live? They disciplined us for a short time as seemed right to them, but he does so for our benefit, in order that we may share his holiness. At the time, all discipline seems cause not for join but for pain, yet later it brings the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who are trained by it.
So strengthen your drooping hands and your weak knees. Make straight paths for your feet, that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed.

Aborted Fetal Material Used in Anti-Wrinkle Creams
[LifeSiteNews.com] - Children of God for Life announced today that Neocutis, a bio-pharmaceutical company focused on dermatology and skin care, is using aborted fetal cell lines to produce several of their anti-aging skin creams.
For years Children of God for Life has been a watchdog on pharmaceutical companies using aborted fetal cell lines in medical products and they have received thousands of inquiries from the public on the use of aborted fetal material in cosmetics.
However, the group says that this is the first time they have encountered any company bold enough to put the information right on their own website and product literature.
"It is absolutely deplorable that Neocutis would resort to exploiting the remains of a deliberately slaughtered baby for nothing other than pure vanity and financial gain," stated Executive Director Debi Vinnedge. "There is simply no moral justification for this."
Neocutis' key ingredient, known as "Processed Skin Proteins," was developed at the University of Luasanne from the skin tissue of a 14-week gestation electively-aborted male baby donated by the University Hospital in Switzerland. Subsequently, a working cell bank was established, containing several billion cultured skin cells to produce the human growth factor needed to restore aging skin. The list of products using the cell line include: Bio-Gel, Journee, Bio-Serum, Prevedem, Bio Restorative Skin Cream and Lumiere.
Vinnedge is calling for a full boycott of all Neocutis products, regardless of their source.
"There is absolutely no reason to use aborted babies for such selfish motives," Vinnedge said. "It is anti-life, anti-woman and counter-productive as Neocutis is about to find out!" Full story at LifeSiteNews

U.S. House Speaker Pelosi wants to ram the pro-abortion health care bill through the House - Telephone your representative in the U.S. House today!
[NRLC] - This is an urgent congressional alert from the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) in Washington, D.C. Please act on this alert immediately. …
Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Ca.) is planning to try to ram the massive health care bill (H.R. 3200) through the House on short notice, without allowing consideration of a critical pro-life amendment. National Right to Life is urging every pro-life citizen to immediately TELEPHONE the office of his or her representative in the U.S. House of Representatives with a clear and firm message urging a NO vote on the so-called "rule," which is the procedural vote that would allow passage of H.R. 3200 with no amendments allowed, and also to vote against the pro-abortion bill itself.
Even if you have already called and written your representatives in Congress about the health care bills, it is critical that you call again now. This will just take a few minutes. For guidance on how to make your call, click here, or go to the NRLC Legislative Action Center at http://www.capwiz.com/nrlc/ and click on the "Urgent Congressional Alert."
