Pray that God will continue to bless the efforts that have gone into the 40 Days for Life campaign, as we trust Him for the results.

Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand. O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name.— Nehemiah 1:10-11

Nehemiah provides an awesome blue‐print for volunteers in God’s service, particularly those responding to the devastation abortion has caused our nation. Nehemiah grieved for God’s reputation as he witnessed the condition of the city walls of Jerusalem. The walls were broken down which was seen by neighboring people as a sign of weakness on the part of Jerusalem’s God. No wall meant no security for the city and its people.

We learn from his story that he covered every detail in prayer; inspired others to join the cause; organized others to help do the work; confronted opposition directly and turned to God when discouraged; and finally celebrated what was accomplished and gave God all the glory! Like Nehemiah, we must acknowledge God’s sovereignty as we serve Him before a mocking world. We too need to be reminded that we are “fighting” for our families. We too must have an attitude of confession and repentance before a Holy God. We must pray for strength, refute slander, and not be diverted from our work. Like Nehemiah, we will draw attention from the enemy when we are seeking to protect the well‐being of God’s people. We too must stand firm and seek God’s help to persevere until the task is done. We too will be victorious.

Closed for the Day!

The National campaign reports on how the campaign is progressing around the country. Here is an excerpt from today’s update. In the meantime, there have been 256 lives saved thus far.

Yesterday, I was able to share the amazing news that the Planned Parenthood abortion center in Kalispell, Montana would soon be closing its doors forever. There's even more good news today! Okay, so it may not be quite as dramatic. But more clinic doors are remaining closed on days when babies are usually scheduled to die—and that's good news! Here are just a few of the reports I've received.

Planned Parenthood's major abortion center just blocks from the White House in Washington, DC was reported closed last Saturday—highly unusual for its typically busiest day, to say the least. But not everyone knew the clinic was shut.

Dick spoke to a young woman who'd come for an abortion. "I counseled her as to why she should not have an abortion and about the help available," he said, and he gave her his card. "She called me and said she had changed her mind about having an abortion. Thanks be to God!"

The large Planned Parenthood abortion center that is the site of a 40 Days for Life vigil in Indianapolis, Indiana did no abortions for two weeks! This facility is only open for counseling on Thursdays and abortions on Fridays. "But if at least six women do not sign up for abortions on Thursday," Eileen said, "they will be rescheduled for the next week because it is not cost-effective to fly a doctor in from another state to do fewer than six abortions." Why do they have to bring a doctor in from out of state? Because, Eileen explained, "no doctor in Indianapolis—or even anywhere in Indiana—has taken the job." For two weeks in a row, there apparently were fewer than six women seeking abortions. So the abortionist stayed home, and the death toll for those two weeks was ZERO. Said Eileen, "Praise God!".…

Opportunities Arise to Promote 40 Days for Life

The St. Therese Church in Carson City will be holding a church fair on Oct 30-31 (Friday & Saturday) and 40 Days for Life has been offered the opportunity to have a booth to promote our campaign to their attendees. Are you willing to assist at the booth on Friday from noon to 5:00 pm?

Do you know of other Churches that will be holding gatherings at which we can present our information? It would be great to have a team of volunteers ready and willing to assist at these events.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access [by faith] to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. Miracle Baby: Mother Successfully Battles for Right to Deliver Healthy Baby Despite Terminal Cancer

[LifeSiteNews.com, commentary by Georgia Froncek] - When I pulled up to the Long Beach Family Planning Associates Abortion mill at on February 3, 2009 at 8:30 a.m., I saw my fellow street counselor Charlotte talking to an Hispanic man named Carlos, who was visibly very upset. As soon as I exited the car, Charlotte motioned me to come over to join the conversation.

Carlos explained to me that his wife and mother of five children, named Nereyda, was in the abortion mill because their H.M.O. insurance company would not treat her for her serious stage 4 sarcoma cancer - unless she aborted her 5-month-old unborn child. I replied in Spanish that this was illegal, and that we could help them obtain care without having an abortion.

He smiled and called his wife's cell phone inside the clinic and told her to come out immediately. She came out within thirty seconds, crying and very upset. She explained that the HMO had called her for fourteen days in a row, pressuring her into the appointment at the Long Beach Abortion mill. After consoling the couple, I called an adoption counselor to help us find a sympathetic social worker, who met the three of us for breakfast to discuss a plan to keep the baby.

Next, we called a Spanish speaking social worker who again insisted that Nereyda could not be treated for her aggressive stage-four cancer without getting an abortion before her consultation, ten days away. We told the social worker that Carlos and Nereyda had the right to medical treatment because she was paying for her insurance through her employment. I told the social worker that I would go with the couple to the consultation, which made Carlos and Nereyda feel better. I was happy to go with them. For the rest of the story

Canadian Woman Survives Botched Abortion in Montreal That Nearly Killed Her

[LifeNews.com] -- A Canadian woman barely survived a botched legal second-trimester abortion that nearly killed her. Christelle Dupuis-Labelle, 19, was three months into her pregnancy when she went to the CLSC des Faubourgs abortion center in Quebec for an abortion that didn't go as expected. After a morning abortion, Dupuis-Labelle spent two hours recovering from the procedure before issuing complaints that she was bleeding heavily from it. Despite the problems, the young woman tells a Canadian newspaper that the abortion center let her leave. "There was lots of blood," she told the Le Journal de Montreal in an interview on Wednesday. "I told a nurse, but they let me go anyway." Dupuis-Labelle's boyfriend picked her up form the abortion facility for the 45 minute drive home to St. Jerome, during which her heavy bleeding continued and her pain increased. "Every step I took, [the blood] flowed," she said. "They said that I had lost much blood and that five minutes later, that it could have been fatal to me." Early Thursday afternoon, the couple arrived at the hospital in St. Jerome where doctors performed an emergency operation and gave her a complete blood transfusion. Full story at LifeNews.com

Prostaglandin Procedure – induced abortion in second trimester. Child killed by strength of contractions. Abortionist sometimes injects drugs into heart of baby to kill baby so it is not delivered alive. The process is so traumatic to the baby that they are frequently fully bruised when born. Dismemberment or Dilation and Evacuation – Abortionist goes by feel, inserts forceps into the uterus and grabs extremities of the fetus and then pulls them off the child, removing the child piece by piece. Dilation and Extraction - Uses the birth process itself as the method of killing, Partial Birth Abortion is a version of this type of abortion. Some forms of this abortion procedure remain legal. Dr. Haskell, an abortionist, has given lectures on how to perform this type of abortion. It has also been testified to in Congress that this procedure occurs. This video includes a talk during which Dr. Haskell walks a group of doctors through the procedure of a partial birth abortion.
