Signs Allowed!

We have spoken with Senior Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Reno, and after a review of the City Ordinance, it was determined that the large signs which have done so much good can continue to stand on the ground, as long as they remain attended, which has always been the case.   We continue to look into the legality of our posting the 40 Days for Life yard signs, and we will get back to you with what we find as it becomes available.   But in the meantime, we request that you not post signs that are stuck into the ground.   Also it is not permissible to post signs that are fastened to the poles, posts or wires on public property.   Please remember that as participants in 40 Days for Life we strive to follow the law in all we do.   We ask that you respect this.   You may hold signs or place signs on your vehicles during your visits to the sidewalks, and we encourage you to continue to do so.

MOMs Group Adopts the Sidewalk

The women of the MOMs group at Immaculate Conception Church adopted the sidewalk on Wednesday, ensuring that there were prayer volunteers present delivering the Love of Christ through-out the day through the power of their present prayers.  

Sadly, while there, a couple arrived and parked across from the sidewalk, sitting in their car for quite a while.   One of the volunteers approached them and offered information in the hopes that they could assist them in making a choice for life.   The woman insisted that she was not pregnant and they left the two of them to continue their conversation.   After staying there for approximately 45 minutes, a young woman walked down the driveway from the facility and the volunteers realized that this teen, most likely their daughter, had just had an abortion.   She struggled to walk to the car for her ride home and shortly after getting in she had to get back out to vomit.   This was most certainly not a good day for her.  

Please pray for her and all the others who left the abortion site wounded.

On Thursday, the Immaculate Conception Parish has adopted the sidewalk.   Please come and join them on the sidewalk.

On Friday, St. Alberts Parish has adopted the sidewalk.   Do you have a hour that you can give to pray on this typically busy day at the abortion site?

In the meantime, you are welcome to sign-up or simply show-up to pray at the sidewalk at any time of the day or night when you are available to join us.   Your prayers have value well beyond anything we can see and we welcome whatever contribution you can make to the effort as we Pray to End Abortion.

40 Days through Scripture

Day 9: Luke 1-4 (including: Luke 1:41-44)
When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.   And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?   For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. …”

Jesus was just beginning to grow in Mary’s womb and yet already He was Our Lord, Divinity and Humanity in a single person.   And John the Baptist, also in the womb, was able to recognize the presence of Our Lord in Mary’s womb.   Unborn, they were present with all their inherent dignity.   The same dignity applies to the unborn who travel to their doom, wrapped in their own mother’s wombs.   Please honor the dignity of unborn human life.   Stand between them and their imminent death, Pray at the Sidewalk, offer their mothers a choice that they can all live with.

T Minus One Until Health Care "Summit"

[National Right to Life] By Dave Andrusko - Even as I write this the jockeying for position by the White House and Democratic congressional leadership has gone into overdrive in preparation for Thursday's Health Care "summit." The maneuvering is important to us not because it is a fascinating exercise in political spin (although it is clearly that), but because President Obama's "add ons" this week would worsen an already pro-abortion Senate bill, H.R. 3590.

On Monday NRLC first commented on the changes Obama proposed to make to the bill the Senate passed last December. (See http://nrlactioncenter.com.)

"For pro-life Democrats in the House, President Obama's proposal only makes matters worse," explained NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson. "If all of the President's changes were made, the resulting legislation would allow direct federal funding of abortion on demand through Community Health Centers, would institute federal subsidies for private health plans that cover abortion on demand (including some federally administered plans), and would authorize federal mandates that would require even non-subsidized private plans to cover elective abortion."

He added, "The scope of the abortion-related problems with the Obama-backed legislation are being vastly understated in the mainstream news media.”   To Continue Reading

PP Gives False Statements in Response to WI Investigation

Yesterday Live Action released an undercover tape which shows Planned Parenthood learning that a 14 year old girl has become pregnant by her 31 yr old boyfriend.   Their response to the media was that because the girl failed to give her name they were unable to submit the required report.   They didn’t have the information necessary to allow follow-up.   Today, Live Action has released additional footage demonstrating that this excuse was not consistent with the facts of the case.   Will they never learn?   To see both videos, go to: http://liveaction.org/blog/planned-parenthood-of-wi-ceo-makes-false-statements/

Life Chain Rally – Sunday March 14, 2 – 3:30 pm

Mark your calendar Spring Life Chain Rally held on Sunday, March 14, from 2-3:30 pm at South Virginia and South McCarran in Reno.   We will stand to give witness to the truth that Abortion Kills Children.   Signs are available at $1 apiece.   Churches are encouraged to make them available to their congregants for a $2 deposit, allowing those who would like to keep them, and others who would like to get their deposit back to return them.
