No Abortions Today
The wonderful news from the sidewalk was that there were no abortions today! The facility was closed to clients although there were staff present during the day. It’s hard to know what to expect these days, as their schedule seems to be in a constant state of flux, perhaps trying to avoid the hours when we have volunteers present at the sidewalk. But now with a more constant presence, this effort on their part becomes less effective.
Our prayer volunteers were present on the sidewalk today, immersing the property, and all those involved at the site, in constant prayer. We have found that many of the employees seem to be warming to our presence, even giving occasional smiles and waves as they enter the property. We pray that, just as Abby Johnson left her position at Planned Parenthood to work for Life, that they too will come to join us as we pray on the sidewalk. Abby Johnson left her job as director for Planned Parenthood and now stands on the sidewalk of the same facility she once ran and counsels women entering. We would welcome any of these women to do the same here in Reno!
Thank you to the many faithful volunteers who come to pray, even those who have not placed their names on the on-line calendar. Your support makes the success of this campaign possible!
One prayer volunteer spoke of her time at the sidewalk on Sunday and how the drivers of the passing cars encouraged her in her prayers. This confirms the experience of another volunteer, who while standing in prayer was recently greeted by a passing driver who stopped to give him $20 to put towards supporting our efforts. We’ve also had drivers stop to join in prayer, one even shared a story of their abortion experience, and our presence allowed them to begin the healing process. God is using our efforts, while the abortion site is open and while it is closed. Please, join us in this effort to make abortion unthinkable through prayer.
We pray that Dr. Stutes will come to accept that what he is doing in the abortion site goes against everything that is good, and that he surrender to the Love and Mercy of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who loves him unconditionally, even as he condemns the sin of abortion. Christ loves a repentant heart and He longs to have his son turn from his sinful ways and return to the God who has loved him always.
Sign Incident Update
As reported in the Saturday Update, a police report has been filed on the incident involving the signs that stand across from the abortion site were run over. Today investigators contacted at least 2 of the three witnesses of the event. Thank you to Reno’s finest as they follow up with their investigation. We look forward to their taking this incident as seriously as they took the matter of a pencil mark on the metal fence that fronts the abortion site.
Please Ask Your Church to Adopt A Day & Join Life Chain
Thus far, our campaign success in maintaining a nearly constant vigil at the sidewalk has been possible because people like you have stepped up and requested that their pastors support Adopt a Day through their church. The vast majority of the churches that have stepped up to this challenge have been Catholic, but this campaign is by no means a Catholic endeavor. The national director of 40 Days for Life is not Catholic, and many of the campaigns around the country are led by non-Catholic Christians. Many of our local regular prayer volunteers are themselves not Catholic and we would like to see our campaign better reflect the entire body of Christ as we Pray to End Abortion. Won’t you please approach your pastor and request that your congregation join on the sidewalk to defend the most innocent and defenseless children be protected from abortion?
What we have found is that those who come to the sidewalk grow in the depth of their relationship to Christ. Being there where the killings are done also creates a sense of just how serious this issue is and increases the intensity of the prayers that it will come to an end. These are the spiritual benefits of participating in this campaign at the frontlines, not to mention the benefits that occur when a mother sees those who love her child enough to come out of their comfort zone to plead for the innocent life. We can’t save every child that is brought to the abortion site, but on occasion, we see the fruit of our labors, through an innocent life saved. Won’t you come to Pray to End Abortion?
We will also be holding a Life Chain on March 14. This event started as a gift from God to a small ministry in Yuba City, CA in 1987 and in 2009 over 1700 locations held a Life Chain event. This non-denominational Christian effort is for those who call Jesus Christ Lord, and are willing to declare abortion a grave evil that defames the name and holiness of God (Leviticus 18:21). For more information on Life Chain, call Elizabeth Labat at: 504-296-8670
Video Cameras Recommended
It has been recommended, and I’d like to encourage you to consider this recommendation, that those coming to the sidewalk bring a video camera when you come to pray. Place the camera in your car, or on a tripod on the sidewalk, to videotape you while you are standing in prayer. It is prudent that we have a video record of all that occurs at the sidewalk, as we gather peacefully, prayerfully and lawfully.

National Campaign News
107 Babies Saved
World-wide, there are a reported 107 babies saved during the current campaign. The incredible thing is that we know from local experience that there are saves that aren’t reported to the sidewalk, sometimes for years afterwards, and sometimes they are never reported to those who come to pray and council the women entering the abortion site. Praise God for all those who are saved from abortion and the women who are spared the trauma! Praise God also for those who have been brought to the healing of Our Lord Jesus Christ through the witness provided at the sidewalk.

On Weds, we also have a gap in our prayer coverage from 1-3 and again from 6-7 pm. Thanks to the Cathedral Parish, who will be bringing additional coverage to the sidewalk. Praise be to God for all our faithful prayer volunteers.
Thursday brings the Valley View Christian Fellowship to the sidewalk and we welcome their presence. We currently have a gap in our coverage on Thursday from 11-6. Which hour can you cover with prayer? Perhaps the lunch hour? Please register using our online calendar, so we can be certain that the sidewalk is covered in constant prayer.
You are welcome to sign-up or simply show-up to pray at the sidewalk at any time of the day or night when you are available to join us. Your prayers have value well beyond anything we can see and we welcome whatever contribution you can make to the effort as we Pray to End Abortion.

40 Days through Scripture
- Day 14: John 1-5 (including: John 1:6-14)
- A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to testify to the light. The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world came to be through him. He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him. But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision but of God.
And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.
Christ became man so that we might know Him and be saved. But he entered the world in the humble form of man, coming through the birth of an innocent child, whose life was delicate and unprotected, except for the love of a mother who gave Him life. He is our role model in all things, including the example that all life is precious, even the life of an unborn child in the womb. What light, what joy might that child bring to his parents if allowed to live?
Please pray that all involved with abortion will come to appreciate that the lives they take are a gift from God, just as Jesus was a gift, precious and uniquely selected for the family in which he has been placed. Children often provide the blessing of bringing their parents closer to God. Let us pray that every woman who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant will seek first Christ when trying to understand how she is to cope with the challenges she faces.

Practitioner Denies He Botched Legal Abortion That Killed Hispanic Woman
[LifeNews] by Steven Ertelt - A New Your City abortion practitioner is denying he did the botched abortion that killed a local Hispanic woman last month. The abortion was done at the A-1 Women's Care abortion center located in Jackson Heights and, although abortion practitioner Salomon Epstein does abortions there he denies he did it.
Last month, 37-year-old Alexandra Nuñez died after a botched abortion claimed her life.
The State of New York Department of Health has opened an investigation into Epstein and his abortion center.
But, in an email received over the weekend, Epstein told LifeNews.com he did not do the failed abortion that claimed the woman's life.
"I did not treat this patient and I do not operate the A 1 clinic that is mentioned," he claims. "You may call that clinic directly ... not one of my patients ever died."
"You should share this with your friends at Operation Rescue," Epstein told LifeNews.com.
After passing along the email to the pro-life group, OR investigators contacted the A-1 Clinic and didn't get very far.
"A call was made by Operation Rescue investigators and an unidentified receptionist refused to give any information, but did not deny it when questioned if Epstein worked at the clinic," OR informed LifeNews.com today.
"If you got an e-mail, you work it out with him," she said.
The investigator responded, "But he asked us to call you," at which time the receptionist hung up.
Operation Rescue investigator Tara Shaver says a receptionist told her late last year that Salomon Epstein was involved with the abortion facility.
Shaver later filed a complaint with the New York Medical Board against Epstein when news of the Nunez abortion death surfaced. Shaver was sent a letter confirming that an investigation was underway and has since spoken with investigators.. To Continue Reading

Video Vignette
Representative Trent Franks – Abortion Worse for Blacks than Slavery
This video has been creating quite a stir in the mainstream media and through-out the liberal blogosphere, as he states that abortion has more devastated the black population than slavery ever did. He carefully qualifies the fact that this in no way excuses the horrible tragedy of slavery, but merely points out the fact that as we look back in wonder that our nation could have ever condoned slavery that we acknowledge that abortion now does even greater damage to Black Americans. His comments on this topic can be found at minute 6:30 on the tape. Watch for yourself.
