National Campaign Daily Intention

Pray to God who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, to end abortion in America.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
-- Ephesians 3:20-21

God's power working in and through His people is unlimited and far beyond our comprehension when we submit to God's Word and Spirit. He receives glory when we are obedient to His calling and faithfully serve Him in His strength.

Consider God's hand of providence on this nation because of the faithfulness of a few who were totally committed to God and His truths.

It is interesting to note the words of Mother Teresa of Calcutta: "Yours is the one great nation in all history which was founded on the precept of equal rights and respect for all humankind, for the poorest and weakest of us as well as the richest and strongest."

Mother Teresa, in addressing the Supreme Court of the United States said, "Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. I have no new teaching for America. I seek only to recall you to faithfulness to what you once taught the world.

She continued, "Your nation was founded on the proposition very old as a moral precept, but startling and innovative as a political insight that human life is a gift of immeasurable worth, and that it deserves, always and everywhere, to be treated with the utmost dignity and respect."

It is time to restore that dignity and respect. Our God is able. Are we willing to remain faithful until His work through us is done?

National Campaign News

Pray for abortion worker conversions
A local 40 Days for Life campaign director reports that a car with two women drove up to the clinic while people were praying. "One lady got out of the car and went to the staff entrance of the clinic," she reported. "The other lady rolled down her window and was looking at me, so I approached her."

The young woman in the car said it was her mother who had just entered the abortion center. "We don't believe in abortion," said the daughter. "It's just her job."

The 40 Days for Life campaign director smiled and said, "She is participating in this, and that's a problem.” I gave her something to read, and she was anxious to accept it. I told her that if her mother needs help to get another job that we know nurses and doctors and we can help her. She was grateful for the suggestion.

Please pray for this mother and daughter. "This story is another example of why we have to be there at the clinic praying and not just pray at home," said the 40 Days for Life volunteer.

"We need to be a public witness. We came out at 6:30 AM, and it was about 10 degrees. It seems like when it is raining or very cold, God rewards our sacrifices the most."

Baby Saved in Reno
Crisis Pregnancy Center – touching lives and making a difference!
From Steve Wren, Executive Director:
“WOW, I had to share this story. We had a 16 year old post abortive pregnant client last week who was very abortion vulnerable. Sue met with her and offered an ultrasound scheduled for a week later. During the week she made an appointment at West End. She paid $100 for their ultrasound. They told her she was 8 weeks and then, she said, proceeded to encourage her to abort. She resisted the pressure and got out of there! Then she came back to the CPC for our free ultrasound. Ours confirmed the pregnancy at 6 weeks. I am making the assumption that they lied to either get more money or to make it a time pressured choice. ANYWAY, what they didn't know is for this teen she would have - could have aborted at 6 weeks BUT in her mind she would not if she was 8 weeks (we know there is no difference but remember she’s 16). SO, yesterday we had two kids beaming as they watched their baby’s heart beat! They are living with his parents (hers are drug users). They are going to grow up fast but what a blessing awaits!”

Our prayers are making a difference! This young woman had already had an abortion making her statistically more likely to resort to abortion again. She went for an ultrasound at the very clinic where we’re praying. She RESISTED THE PRESSURE to abort her baby and got out of there! This is a life saved right here in Reno. Praise God!

Compassionate and knowledgeable counseling at the CPC, faithful prayers at the clinic and the faithful prayers of the many committed to pray daily from home or wherever they are saved this life through the grace of God.

We don’t always know how God is touching hearts or when an abortion has been avoided but we trust Him to answer our prayers in His time according to His will. We are so blessed that He has made this fruit of our prayers known to us so that we may be encouraged.

This young woman, and others like her, will need continued help and support after she gives birth to her child. Please support the CPC with your donations of time, talent and treasure so that they may continue to minister to these women in need. Praise God for Steve and Sue!

First Saturday Rosary
Over 70 people, including many teens, joined their hearts praying the rosary across from the abortion site this morning. Several Hispanic brothers and sisters joined us and while our prayers were both in Spanish and English we were united in heart petitioning on behalf of the unborn.
The Lord touches more hearts to join us each month. Will you be there next month?

Coming Events

Vigil of Mourning, March 13, 6:00 pm
Join as we mourn the lives lost at the abortion site and the potential never realized through the horror of abortion. Bring your large sized votive candles and wear clothes in black to symbolize the mourning of these losses.

This is a Catholic devotion of praying for the Mercy of God, but all are welcome to join.

Life Chain, March 15, 2 – 3:30 pm
Life Chain, for those who are unfamiliar with it, is a peaceful witness to the fact that Abortion Kills Children, and Abortion Hurts Women. Christians are called to stand in witness to the truth Christ gave us, that all human life is sacred and deserving of protection. We would like to again bring people out to say “Enough is Enough”, but to do so with messages of peace, healing and truth. Women Deserve Better than Abortion, but if they don’t know the truth, they may find themselves submitting to this as their supposed best option. Help us spread the word, Adoption is the Loving Option. Additional signs state: Jesus Forgives and Heals; Lord, Forgive us and our Nation; El Aborto Mata Niño’s; Life the First Inalienable Right; and Pray to End Abortion.

40 Days through Scripture

Day 12: Luke 14 – 19
Then he told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said, “There was a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected any human being. And a widow in that town used to come to him and say, ‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’ For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought, ‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being, because this widow keeps bothering me I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me.’ ” The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says. Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them? I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
-- Luke 18:1-8

Again scripture assures us that the persistence of our prayers will lead to them being answered. Join us, Persist in your persistence.

Obama to Sign Executive Order Monday Opening Public Funding of Embryonic Stem Cell Research
[LifeSiteNews.com] President Barack Obama plans to rescind the Bush policy limiting federal funding for embryo destructive research on Monday. The Bush policy had allowed federal funding for experiments on already existing lines of embryos, but forbade the funds from being used to create new embryos for experimentation.

"Human embryo-destroying stem cell research is not only unethical, unworkable and unreliable, it is now demonstrably unnecessary," said Smith. "Adult stem cells ... are truly remarkable. They work, they have no ethical baggage, and advances are made every day at a dizzying pace.
But despite so much progress in the adult stem cell field, "the Obama administration and the House and Senate Democratic leadership remain obsessed with killing human embryos for experimentation at taxpayer expense," said Smith.

Representatives Speak Out Against Embryonic Stem Cell Research
Just this week ten pro-life Members of Congress spoke on stem cell research during a Special Order organized by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ). Smith and the other pro-life Congressman observed that embryonic stem-cell research is not only unethical, but unnecessary, given the superior results achieved through adult stem cell research.
