National Campaign Daily Intention

We pray for humility in our work for God's Kingdom.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

-- Philippians 2:5-8

There is no limit to what we can accomplish when we don't care who gets the credit.

Jesus Christ's life on earth exemplifies a total submission to the will of the Father. His humility, compassion, gentleness and thoughtfulness are reflected over and over again in the New Testament.

O Lord, help us follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Let us humbly and diligently work to restore legal protection for the unborn, the disabled, the medically dependent and all innocent children of God whose lives are threatened. Let us remember the old adage that "He can never lead who has not first learned to obey." And, Lord, grant us a peaceful heart as we labor in your name. Amen.

Faithfulness puts us in the right place at God’s right time

We're almost at the halfway point of this 40 Days for Life campaign and we are all probably ready for a fresh jolt of energy to continue this journey!

Cheryl in Ft. Pierce, Florida shows how God provides all the motivation-- and energy -- you need. Cheryl's day started with a blast from her alarm at 5 AM. She jumped out of bed -- and then jumped right back in.

"I then remembered the conversation from the night before with my 15-year-old son," Cheryl said. "He had told me that he is proud of me for what I do at the abortion clinic and in all the many ways that the Lord has me helping pregnant girls and women and their babies and helping people hurting from abortion find healing. So I got out of bed immediately and got ready."

After spending some time in prayer at the clinic, a young woman walked up to Cheryl and said she needed to talk. She was pregnant with twins and the babies' father had left her -- and had the power shut off at her apartment.

Cheryl got on the phone with some organizations she knew might be able to help. Sure enough, one was able to contribute some money to get the electricity back on. The young woman had no food, so Cheryl took her to eat at a nearby restaurant.

"We had a wonderful conversation," Cheryl said. "She showed me the ultrasound photo of her little baby twins. She had tears in her eyes." There were even more tears, she said, "because she saw that the Lord heard her prayers and He will make a way for her and her babies some how, some way."

At the end of the day, "I went home to be with my precious husband and our six children," Cheryl said. "I am truly blessed. Imagine what could have happened today if I hadn't gone to the abortion clinic to pray and sidewalk counsel."

Reno Life Chain

Today we were blessed with warm and sunny, although windy weather as we prayerfully educated the public at McCarran and Virginia in Reno. It was wonderful to see participation from so many different churches. A special thank you to University Family Fellowship, Outlook Christian Church and Rehobath Holy Temple, Church of God in Christ, St Thomas Aquinas Cathedral, St. Rose Church, St. Alberts, Our Lady of Snows, and Corpus Christi Church in Tahoe City for their participation in this successful event. Bind us together, Lord, in this work of love for the unborn.

We had mostly honks and waves of support for life. One woman shouted out that if men behaved responsibly then women wouldn’t need to have abortions (well, she used more colorful language but that was the essence). While it takes two, she has a point. How many women are pressured into abortions by boyfriends and even husbands or their fathers? How many women feel that abortion is their only choice because the male involved would not be there to help her raise and nurture the child? A lot!

Males should not be allowed to use abortion as their “get out of jail free card” to solve the unintended “problem” created by their careless recreation. Abortion benefits men NOT women.

It is high time that men behaved as MEN and not merely males. Women – why are we letting them get away with this?

Life Chain idea repeated in Riverside CA – 300 attend

Our idea to use Life Chain as our Midway Rally was picked up by the coordinators of the Riverside CA campaign and as a result, yesterday there were 300 people on the sidewalk there. David Bereit, in his travels around the country, was there and after talking to their coordinator called Carol Marie to give her to good news that the ideas we are implementing here, and sharing with other campaigns are bearing abundant fruit. Praise the Lord!

Thank you St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral

The St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral adopted the day at the vigil site on Saturday and the day was filled with volunteers, even those who has not signed up for a specific hour showed up to spend time in prayer. Each hour had a number of people joining together to Pray to End Abortion. This simple gift of an hour of your time could make the difference between life and death for a child. Won’t you sign in and register for an hour?

Encourage your pastor to allow you to coordinate an Adopt a Day for your church. It really doesn’t require that much effort when you consider the benefit gained, a life that has the potential of being spent serving God on earth and enjoying His company for all eternity.

Volunteers needed!

Volunteers are also needed to make phone calls to past participants to ask them to give an hour at the abortion site again. Please contact Carol Marie at 530-412-1573 or send an email to: renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com

40 Days through Scripture

Day 20: Acts 10 - 15

We are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree. This man God raised on the third day and granted that he be visible, not to all the people, but to us, the witnesses chosen by God in advance, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commissioned us to preach to the people and testify that he is the one appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness, that everyone who believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins through his name.

While Peter was still speaking these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the word. The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit should have been poured out on the Gentiles also, for they could hear them speaking in tongues and glorifying God. Then Peter responded, “Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit even as we have?” He ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they invited him to stay for a few days.

-- Acts 10:39-49

We need to remember that God, just as he extended salvation from the Jews to the Gentiles, seeks to use us to proclaim His Kingdom to the unbelievers, so that they too can come to receive the forgiveness of their sins, through the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior.

Have your reached out in Holy boldness and shared the truth of the Gospel of Life with someone you know, doing so with Love for the one who doesn’t yet understand that God desires that every parent love their child, as He the Father Loves them? It is ever important that we strive to share the truth of beauty of each human life, from the moment of conception, for God formed us in the image and likeness of God, and He knew each of us before He formed us in the womb.

Send a RED Envelope

Red Envelope Day - March 31, 2009

  • Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores.
  • On the front, address it to:
    President Barack Obama
    The White House
    1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
    Washington , D.C. 20500
  • On the back, write the following message.
This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.
    Responsibility Begins at Conception.
  • Mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.
  • Don't forget to put your name and address on it or they will just pitch them out!

Encourage others to participate. It would be wonderful if we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [only in the U.S.] before having a chance to live…

It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it's shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.

Sign-up for Your Hours on the Vigil Calendar

Please, visit the calendar, register and sign-up to join us at the sidewalk. Our Vigil Calendars are located at: www.vigilcalendar.com/renotahoe and www.vigilcalendar.com/carsoncity for Reno and Carson City respectively.

Sign up even if you’re not 100% sure that you can make that particular time.

Noise pollution continues. Bring an iPod (or similar device) or earplugs so that you may concentrate on prayer without the distraction of the foul filth Dr. Stutes continues to spew from his speakers.

Pray whether you are signed up or not. It is most important to pray.
