Proverbs 3:27 reads, "Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so." Some things are so obvious that we don't even need to pray except to ask of God forgiveness and the power to do what so obviously needs doing.
God, forgive us when we try to explain away the obligation we have to help others who need help. Enable us to not devalue them because they are in the circumstance that they are in, but to see them for what they are, those, who like us, were formed by your hand in their mother's womb. Amen.

Impacting Entire Families
Many families have been blessed by the mission of 40 Days for Life -- and sometimes in the most surprising ways.
Here's a story about last fall's campaign that I (Shawn Carney) just learned about this week.
A young man's mother insisted on two occasions that he drive her to the vigil outside the abortion center as she had signed up for hours in the middle of the night, but did not want to go alone.
When they arrived, the mom went to pray, but the young man refused to get out of the car...
...But the experience still had an impact.
The mother didn't know it at the time, but her son's girlfriend was pregnant, and planned to have an abortion -- at the very facility where the 40 Days for Life vigil was in progress.
But the young man was so touched by what his mother was doing he called his girlfriend shortly afterward.
Fortunately, she answered the phone -- she was at the abortion center for her appointment.
He urged her to get out of that place. And she did.
The baby will be born in July. Praise God!

This morning we were singing and praying in rain, wind, and snow – mixed with sunshine! During the time I spent at the abortion site today I encountered 12 prayer volunteers – 6 adults and 6 children. God granted me the opportunity to share about available post-abortive healing ministries through our local Crisis Pregnancy Center, Rachel’s Vineyard and Priests for Life’s Silent No More awareness campaign for the friend of one of the prayer volunteers. Perhaps another woman will find forgiveness and healing after many years of suffering the emotional effects of her “choice”.

Life Chain, for those who are unfamiliar with it, is a peaceful witness to the fact that Abortion Kills Children, and Abortion Hurts Women. Christians are called to stand in witness to the truth Christ gave us, that all human life is sacred and deserving of protection. We would like to again bring people out to say “Enough is Enough”, but to do so with messages of peace, healing and truth. Women Deserve Better than Abortion, but if they don’t know the truth, they may find themselves submitting to this as their supposed best option. Help us spread the word, Adoption is the Loving Option. Additional signs state: Jesus Forgives and Heals; Lord, Forgive us and our Nation; El Aborto Mata Niño’s; Life the First Inalienable Right; and Pray to End Abortion.
Katie, of Carson City, has stepped forward to coordinate our Life Chain effort. Time is running out, now is the time to order your signs.
- Contact Katie by Wednesday with the number of signs you would like to order for your church, so we can ensure we have enough on-hand for all who want to participate. We intend to order extras so don’t worry if the deadline has passed, but please, please help us know how many to order.
- We will be defining the final locations based on the numbers and locations of those churches that step forward to participate.
- None of the Life Chain locations will be located in the immediate proximity of the abortion sites, so for those who are not prepared to stand at the site of the killings, fear not, this is a way you can be a visible witness to the loving message of Christ.
- We plan on having a second Life Chain event as our End of Campaign Rally, Sunday April 5th, this time with all participants gathering at a single location, most likely in downtown Reno, with our End of Campaign Celebration BBQ to follow.

It has been brought to our attention that a new abortion site has opened in Carson City.

Calling all Pro-Life Catholics (and others who are interested) to pray the Rosary at the abortion site on Saturday, February 7th at 9:00 am. Join us as we pray the Gospel.
Vigil of Mourning, March 13, 6:00 pm
Join as we mourn the lives lost at the abortion site and the potential never realized through the horror of abortion. Bring your large sized votive candles and wear clothes in black to symbolize the mourning of these losses.
This is a Catholic devotion of praying for the Mercy of God, but all are welcome to join.

Extinguishing Physician Conscience
[American Thinker] Mary L. Davenport, MD gives a chilling vision of the future of healthcare in our nation. The impact of the culture of death is clear. Sign-up for Your Hours on the Vigil Calendar
We’ve had several churches or church groups adopt a full day at the vigil site, but there remain many hours for which we need your help. Please, visit the calendar, register and sign-up to join us at the sidewalk. Our Vigil Calendars are located at: www.vigilcalendar.com/renotahoe and www.vigilcalendar.com/carsoncity for Reno and Carson City respectively.
Prayer volunteers do not have to be sidewalk counselors. Also, we are praying many hours when the abortion site is closed.
Sign up even if you’re not 100% sure that you can make that particular time. If circumstances prevent you being at the sidewalk then just make it up another time.
