National Campaign Daily Intention
Pray that we each will daily put on the full armor of God, so that we are strong in the Lord and the power of His might.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
-- Ephesians 6:12-13
National Campaign News
For whatever reason, God does not always permit us to see the results right away.
Keep in mind that things happen in God's time -- not ours. The fruits of 40 Days for Life are often not seen during the actual 40 days, but only become known some time afterward.
God is at work; He's just taking His time.
Pensacola, Florida held a 40 Days for Life vigil last fall. Almost two months after the campaign ended, the team there received word that a woman who worked for the abortion clinic had quit her job. One of the woman's relatives confirmed the news.
All during the 40 days, people prayed for the conversion of clinic employees. Their prayers were heard; they just didn't know it at the time.
A Michigan team got word before Christmas that the clinic where their fall vigil was held had closed for remodeling. They were told there was no firm date for re-opening, and no abortions were being scheduled at that time.
All during the 40 days, people prayed that abortions would stop. Their prayers were heard; they just didn't know it at the time.
Abortion will end; we just don't know at what time.
And so we continue to pray.

New Abortion Site in Carson City – Tahoe Women’s Care - 973 Mica Dr
It has been brought to our attention that a new abortion site has opened in Carson City. In an effort to “welcome” them to the community, we will be have a second vigil location for our 40 Day campaign, located at the sidewalk entry to the complex in which they are located. We encourage everyone to make the effort to visit the sidewalk to pray that they quickly realize that they and their “services” are not welcome here. If anyone is located in South Lake Tahoe and would like to participate in a similar vigil at their primary business site there, I would be willing to announce your vigil presence there as well.
One prayer group that has already formed to stand on the sidewalk in Carson City is a Rosary group, which initiated out of St. Gal’s in Gardnerville. This prayer group is open to everyone, and meets at 10 am on Monday mornings.
Please register on-line when you plan to stand to Pray to End Abortion at this site, as it helps others to know they can join another and not be alone as they do so. To register, go to: www.vigilcalendar.com/carsoncity.
Immaculate Conception & St. Albert the Great parishes adopted Friday
It was a busy day at the abortion site yesterday – for pro-lifers, that is! We were blessed with wonderful prayer coverage all day (and into the night). Eight prayer volunteers were at the clinic during my (Shirley) time there this afternoon.
Pat Souza called in with a report that the day was covered in prayer from 6 am – midnight, with as many as a dozen people, there was only one hour during the day when a solitary person stood vigil in silent prayer.
Thank you Immaculate Conception and St. Albert’s!
Noise Pollution at the Sidewalk
Apparently, our attention at the gates has disturbed the doctor there, as he has increased the vulgarity of the music and sound tracks he is playing. As Miriam, a vigil volunteer who frequently prays on the sidewalk, mentioned, while he was blasting these vulgarities a neighbor walked by, heard it and asked what was going on. She explained that it was an abortion site.
"Yes, I know," replied the pedestrian, "But what's with this awful noise? What could she say in answer? The abortionist, in his response to our peaceful presence is making apparent to those passing by the vulgarity of what he is doing inside to the women who are in a panic and seeking solace, as he demonstrates the depths to which he is willing to sink. His depravity is now readily apparent now to those who pass by, who have previously not given a second thought to the killing going on inside this simple building.
So, to protect yourself from this noise pollution, it is recommended that if you have an iPod or other such music player or simple ear plugs, that you consider wearing them during your visit. And, please, feel free to call the police and report the noise violation. If you feel threatened or in immediate danger, call 911. Otherwise, call the non-emergency line at 775-334-COPS. I recommend you program this number into your cell phone for future reference.
Pro-Life Rally in Sparks
The pro-life rally at the Church of Jesus Christ Spirit Filled was full of moving testimony and well attended. Pastor Wayne Hoag shared his experiences as a surgery technician assisting with abortions before he and his wife came to know the Lord. He emphasized the forgiveness and healing of our Lord while noting that forgiveness usually happens well before healing.
The key to eliminating abortion in this land is healing those women who have had abortions as well as medical personnel who may have participated.
The organizers of this event were kind enough to allow 40 Days for Life to have a literature table so we could promote our event.

40 Days through Scripture
Day 4: Matthew 19 - 24
Matt 21:18-22 When he was going back to the city in the morning, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went over to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again.” And immediately the fig tree withered. When the disciples saw this, they were amazed and said, “How was it that the fig tree withered immediately?” Jesus said to them in reply, “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith and do not waver, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea.’ It will be done. Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.”

Sex-Selection Abortion and Pro-Abortion Feminists: Caught on the Horns of a Dilemma
[National Right to Life, News and Views] "Feminists believe in equal representation of women in the professions, among them business, the academy and government. The termination of a woman from a professional position, because she is a woman, is an unconscionable relic of a sexist past.
"How much more problematic is the termination of a woman's life because she is a woman? Yet this is the very essence of sex-selective abortion, a practice the legality of which one can expect the pro-choice movement to fight tooth and nail to uphold."From "Sex-Selective Abortion is Sexist," by Peter Johnston, which appeared in the Yale Daily News this morning.
Yesterday Oklahoma, that incubator of pro-life legislation, took an important, if preliminary step in enacting HB 1595, a comprehensive abortion-reporting measure. Oklahomans for Life's principle legislative priority for this session, the bill, in essence, tells the abortion industry to put up, or shut up…
Talk about being caught on the horns of a dilemma. The Feminist Establishment--as opposed to genuine feminists--has pledged its undying fealty to abortion on demand for any reason, for no reason, or in spite of reason. What to do when unborn female babies are aborted precisely BECAUSE they are female?

Sign-up for Your Hours on the Vigil Calendar
We’ve had several churches or church groups adopt a full day at the vigil site, but there remain many hours for which we need your help. Please, visit the calendar, register and sign-up to join us at the sidewalk. Help us fill the hours of the first weekend now. Our Vigil Calendars are located at: www.vigilcalendar.com/renotahoe and www.vigilcalendar.com/carsoncity for Reno and Carson City respectively.
Prayer volunteers do not have to also be sidewalk counselors. Also, we are praying many hours when the abortion site is closed.
Sign up even if you’re not 100% sure that you can make that particular time. If circumstances prevent you being at the sidewalk then just make it up another time.
If you have difficulty signing up using the on-line calendar tool, send us an email at renotahoe@40daysforlife.com with your name, phone number (for verification purposes) and the dates and times for which you wish to sign up.
