National Campaign Daily Intention

For the medical community, that the truth they know about the human body may become awe and wonder at the God who made it.

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. -- Psalm 139:16

Human beings -- God's tapestries:

Psalm 139 is a psalm that reveals the enormity and otherness of God. His divine attributes are on display: omniscience (2-4), omnipresence (7-12), loving-kindness (17-18), justice (19-20), righteousness (23-24), and omnipotence. Yet, when it came to express this last attribute, what example did the psalmist use - God's creation of mountains, seas, or far-flung galaxies? No, he used none of these. To express the wonder of God's unparalleled creative power the writer mentions the fashioning of the human in the womb (14-16).

The Hebrew word used to express God's forming of us in the womb, raqam, is the same term for needlework or embroidery. In other words, we are a tapestry that displays God's artistic mastery. And, like the artist who knows his creation down to the last detail, God intimately knows us. This reality provokes the writer to awe and wonder. He proclaims, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

What is true for this psalmist is true for each human being. Each is fashioned by God and known by him and we can proclaim on behalf of each, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

Come on a 40 Days for Life Trip
As Shawn Carney and David Bereit travel all across North America during each 40 Days for Life campaign, they get asked: "What's it like visiting all those 40 Days for Life locations?"

In a word: AMAZING.

But it's nearly impossible to express in words the exhilaration of seeing God's people doing His will all across our land...

...So David decided to invite us to come along on one of these trips with him.

http://40daysforlife.com/blog/?p=213

This past weekend, David made a whirlwind 36-hour tour of nine 40 Days for Life sites in Southern California.

At the last minute before heading out on that trip, he slipped a tiny "Flip" video camcorder into his pocket and decided to film whatever happened on that trip so we could experience it with him.

Kind of like a "pro-life reality show."

The resulting footage was beyond anything he could have hoped for, and after trimming down 36 hours to a concise, fast-moving 39-minute video, David thinks we will be able to see the staggering impact that 40 Days for Life is having at different locations.

We'll hear about lives saved, hearts healed, and we'll even see the "for sale" real estate sign that went up outside one abortion facility during 40 Days for Life.

http://40daysforlife.com/blog/?p=213

Please keep in mind this was all shot with a tiny handheld camcorder with no image stabilization, on location, with absolutely no rehearsal or scripting. It is raw, barely edited footage.

But that's what makes it so REAL.

Notes from the sidewalk
The next time you see the Waste Management Biohazard truck at the abortion site remember the driver is Catholic, doesn’t transport any human remains and disapproves of abortion. Give him a smile, friendly wave and indicate that we’re praying for him too – that he will service a new medical business in this space, one that actually helps people.

Does anyone know the applicable laws and/or regulations covering the disposition of the aborted babies? Please contact Carol Marie at 530-412-1573 or renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com as we are researching this issue.

Volunteers needed!
Volunteers are also needed to make phone calls to past participants to ask them to give an hour at the abortion site again. Please contact Carol Marie at 530-412-1573 or send an email to: renotahoe@40DaysforLife.com

40 Days through Scripture

Day 23 Acts 27– Romans 4
What advantage is there then in being a Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? Much, in every respect. [For] in the first place, they were entrusted with the utterances of God. What if some were unfaithful? Will their infidelity nullify the fidelity of God? Of Course not! God must be true, though every human being is a liar, as it is written:

“That you may be justified in your words, and conquer when you are judged.” (Ps 51:6b)
-- Romans 3:1-8

National News

North Dakota abortion ban could have national implications
[Minnesota Independent] North Dakota legislators are proposing a law that could have national implications. Dubbed the Personhood bill, SF 1572 would grant every fertilized egg in the state full rights, and any intentional death of that fertilized egg would constitute murder. It’s already passed the North Dakota House and will be considered by an anti-abortion Senate. And while Gov. John Hoeven hasn’t spoken publicly about the bill, he is opposed to abortion.

“This sparsely populated rural state that’s proud of its conservative roots could fundamentally alter the rights of women across the country,” said Tim Stanley of Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS). Continue

Cardinal George Urges Catholics to Tell Administration: Keep Conscience Protections for Health Care Workers
WASHINGTON [ www.usccb.org ] —Cardinal Francis George is urging Catholics in the United States to tell the Obama Administration to retain Health and Human Services regulations governing conscience protections for health care workers.

This is vital to keep the government from “moving our country from democracy to despotism,” said Cardinal George, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. He delivered the message via video available on the Web at http://www.usccb.org/conscienceprotection/ and on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NoCRwMqVzQ

Send a RED Envelope
Red Envelope Day - March 31, 2009

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores.

On the front, address it to:
President Barack Obama
The White House1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message.
This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world. Responsibility Begins at Conception.

Mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.

Don't forget to put your name and address on it or they will just pitch them out!

Encourage others to participate. It would be wonderful if we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [only in the U.S.] before having a chance to live…

It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it's shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.
