National Campaign Daily Intention
We pray for the strength to love those who do not love us.
God doesn't value people and things like we do. Jonah loved a shade tree more than Nineveh - an entire city of sinful people (Jonah 4:10-11). We love our dogs more than a terrorist. We love our cars more than a beggar on the side of the road. And sometimes, we love our money more than a child growing in a desperate teenager's womb.
But God isn't like us. Genesis 1 tells us that humans were the capstone of God's creation. We were created on the sixth day after God had completed the land, the stars, the plants and the animals. Therefore, His love for us is greater than His love for a plant, an animal, or any other created thing. And the book of Jonah tells us that He loves even the most sinful people and seeks to bring them into His merciful arms. And it's a love that seeks to touch all of his created children: that desperate teenager, the baby growing in her womb, even tyrants and terrorists.
So it's up to us to imitate God's merciful love by helping and praying for those who persecute us, and those who don't love us back.

PARENTS are counseling abortion over adoption
Susan in Houston says she's on cloud nine. And she should be -- because by answering God's call to pray at the 40 Days for Life vigil, she was in the right place at the right time.
"I was standing outside of the Planned Parenthood facility," she said, "about to light my vigil candle in the dark, when I noticed a young girl walking down the sidewalk. I thought she might be homeless because she was carrying her pillow and quilt."
Susan asked if she needed some help and the girl said no, but Susan suggested she go to the pro-life pregnancy resource center around the corner. The girl thanked her, but said her mom and dad wanted her to have an abortion. She told Susan she was afraid she would be kicked out of her house if she didn't follow through with this.
Susan saw an opening when she asked this frightened teen what SHE really wanted. "I don't want to have an abortion," the young woman told her. "I would like to have the baby and give it up for adoption." Susan explained that she's seen a lot of coercion from parents who think abortion is the best option.
So Susan asked the young girl, "How about seeing what your options are? You have plenty of time before the abortionist shows up. Would you like me to walk with you to the pregnancy center?" She agreed. "Thank the Lord for using me to do good!"
Love and compassion cross language barriers
Bev in Orange, California says she really needs to learn more Spanish. But the Spanish literature her 40 Days for Life team keeps at their vigil site was all the help she needed when a young Hispanic couple drove into the parking lot at Planned Parenthood.
"The woman was obviously crying," she said. "The driver rolled down the window and took my Spanish material with local phone numbers of pro-life centers. I kept saying, 'We'll help! We'll help!' I couldn't remember any Spanish."
At any rate, the couple drove into the parking lot, made a U-turn and came back out. As they drove away from Planned Parenthood, the woman rolled down her window and was smiling. "All I could say," Bev added, "was 'God bless you.'"

Notes from the sidewalk
I (Carol Marie) went to the sidewalk today (Sunday) and gave an hour to Pray to End Abortion. I was there from slightly before 11:00 until noon and was blessed to have the sun shining warmly as the gentle breeze blew through the trees. The occasional call of the birds that frequent the property of the abortion site kept me company as I contemplated Our Lord and sought forgiveness for our nation that allows the tragedy of abortion to occur legally in our midst. While I was there, a young Hispanic man parked his car next to mine (in the dirt across the street from the abortion site). I was seated on a small camp chair I bring with me for this purpose, and I had placed two “Pray to End Abortion” yard signs near the road. He paced on the sidewalk along Airway Terminal as I sat on the sidewalk immediately in front of the abortion site, reading my daily scripture and prayers. Without a word, he completed his time of prayer and departed to continue his day.
Won’t you take a minute from your busy day and stop by the abortion site to Pray to End Abortion? Our prayers are efficacious; they can affect a change if they are aligned with the Will of God. And what could be more consistent with the Will of God than to save the innocent and spare the mothers the pain of a lost child? Please register to join us on the sidewalk for an hour. Our greatest need is for volunteers to come daily at noon, especially Weds, Thurs and Fri, when the children are being killed inside the Reno abortion site.
Arrange to have your church Adopt a Day at the sidewalk. We will provide you with the tools necessary to make your effort successful. Go to: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/AdoptaDay.
No Local Bubble Zone Laws
There appears to be some confusion as to whether or not we are required to remain 100 feet away from the abortion site. This 100 foot distance is imposed in some states and some cities, such as the state of Colorado and the city of Oakland, CA, and it is referred to as a bubble zone within which a Pro-Life individual is not allowed to approach closer than 8 feet an abortion bound individual without an invitation.
There is no Bubble Zone law in Reno, or in the State of Nevada. We are allowed to peacefully express our First Amendment Rights of Free Speech from the sidewalk directly in front of the abortion site, as long as we do not obstruct anyone’s access to the facility or trespass onto their private property. Therefore, Do NOT Touch the fence, as it is located on the property of the abortion site.
Last year, Lt. Donnally of the Reno Police Department shared with us some of what is legal and things to be careful of when visiting the site. You are welcome to listen: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/RenoPolice Lt. Donnally is no longer our contact, but the information he has provided regarding the legality of praying at the sidewalk remains unchanged. Lt. Dave Evans is our police contact for this campaign.
In Carson City, the abortion site is located within the business complex, well away from the 100 foot limit, unless you are on the cross street behind the facility. We are not aware of any Bubble Zone law being in place in the Carson City, Douglas, Minden area that would apply, but if it does, and has been written similarly to those in other locations, it would simply prevent approaching the abortion minded woman. The sidewalk behind the Tahoe Women’s Care is not likely to have traffic of women approaching the site, and we are not in a position there of doing sidewalk counseling. Therefore, prayer and/or holding signs fall within our First Amendment Rights of Free Speech.
Carson site prayer vigil
I (Carol Marie) went to the Carson City abortion site the other day, after going to the 1st Saturday Rosary in Reno and it turns out that a very good friend of mine lives less than 2 blocks from the so called "Tahoe Women's Care". She has committed to praying the rosary each week day when she returns home from work. She will take the dog out and walk him to the abortion site and pray 2 rosaries for the intention of ending abortion and stopping this Ob/Gyn practice from providing abortions. Will you join her? Through prayer all things can be accomplished, even bringing about the end of abortion.
Vigil Volunteer Workshop Goes on the Road
Valley View Christian Fellowship, located at the bottom of Mt. Rose Highway, invited Carol Marie to present the Vigil Volunteer Workshop, which is available on-line for preview at: www.40DaysforLife.com/RenoTahoe/VigilVolunteerWorkshop The workshop was incorporated into an ongoing class they were offering on the subject of abortion. Their abortion related program was the best attended of the programs they have offered thus far. Are the members of your church hungering to hear the Christian position on this most timely and yet unspoken subject?
Suggest to your pastor that your church provide this loving glimpse into how we bring the Love of Christ to the sidewalk in Reno and Carson City. At a minimum, having your pastor review the included No Greater Joy video will help him / her appreciate that this is a loving work for the Body of Christ, and not a gathering of angry protesters.

40 Days through Scripture
Day 13: Luke 20 – 24
It was now about noon and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon because of an eclipse of the sun. Then the veil of the temple was torn down the middle. Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit”; and when he had said this he breathed his last. The centurion who witnessed what had happened glorified God and said, “This man was innocent beyond doubt.” When all the people who had gathered for this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts; but all his acquaintances stood at a distance, including the women who had followed him from Galilee and saw these event.
-- Luke 23:44-49
Are you willing to travel from Galilee to be there, even if you are standing at a distance during the hour of death? Please, be present. The women who enter the abortion site will leave deadened to their potential as mothers. They will be scarred physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Is it possible that your prayers will be what is needed to prevent her a lifetime of regret? Could your prayers be sufficient to spare the life of an innocent child?

More of our tax dollars will be going to Planned Parenthood if the Vitter (#601) and DeMint (#643) Amendments to the House Omnibus budget bill fail. Voting is expected to take place either Monday or Tuesday this week. Do you know what your tax dollars are supporting? The following history lesson will make it clear…
The Ethic of Control: Margaret Sanger, Eugenics, and Planned Parenthood
[InsideCatholic.com] The Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), despite coming under frequent attacks by pro-lifers, remains one of the most respected and well-funded organizations in the country. Add the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) to the equation, and you've got a billion-dollar industry in human fertility.
One would expect that the aims and agenda of such a huge organization would come under severe scrutiny, but Planned Parenthood has been immune from such questions, largely because its stated goals of population control and family planning are supposedly in agreement with America's interests at home and abroad. But is PPFA's stated agenda the whole story?
One way of determining PPFA's real agenda is to study its history. PPFA was founded with the establishment of the nation's first birth-control clinic in 1916 by Margaret Sanger. The clinic was located in Brownsville, New York, a poor neighborhood of mostly Jews and Italians, establishing a pattern of targeting poor and minority populations for family planning…
… Sanger's elitist bigotry was the motivation for her birth control advocacy. Looked at as a whole, Sanger's writings, speeches, and organizational connections with the eugenics movement all served the end of controlling the "unfit" - those determined by Sanger to be unable to manage their own childbearing behavior. What Sanger promulgated was an ethic of control…
Indeed, the ethic of control continues to be imposed on our country and on much of the developing world by Sanger's followers who choose to rid the world of the unfit. Go to article

Abortion bails out sexual predators
TUCSON, AZ, Feb. 3 – New hidden-camera footage from Tucson, AZ, implicates a third Planned Parenthood clinic in a multi-state child abuse scandal. In the video, UCLA student Lila Rose and her friend Jackie Stollar enter a Tucson Planned Parenthood clinic where Rose tells the nurse that Stollar, posing as a 15-year-old, is pregnant by her 27-year-old boyfriend. The nurse disregards the age difference and even cautions Stollar not to bring her "boyfriend" before the judicial hearing required in Arizona to waive parental consent for an abortion. This negligence is punishable under Arizona law.
